Me and a couple friends recently went there for dinner as we were excited for a New Mexican restaurant. Needless to say we ended up leaving disappointed. First off, it was confusing trying to figure out where to go as there were no signs for entrance or exit. Once we made it in, we were told by an employee to sit where ever we wanted. Right after we started walking towards an empty table, a different employee redirected us to a table by the entrance with a big window filled with dead bugs (unappetizing).
Margaritas were way too sweet and barely had any alcohol in it (which we were charged $13 for). Queso with chorizo was not dippable at all and we had to stab our spoons into it to get it apart and on the chip. That was greasy, $14, and not flavorful. In addition, my vegetarian friend ordered a veggie burrito which came out nothing like the menu’s description. She ended up getting a wrap with steamed vegetables and a little cheese and black beans. She ended up picking most of the squash and carrots out and was not a fan, (we ended up getting charged for a wrap and not a burrito which was $2 more).
I got chimichangas, for the most part it was ok but I was underwhelmed with the rice and the refried beans had a very odd smell and were gray colored. I ordered shredded chicken in my chimichanga and there were a lot of questionable pieces of dark meat that also smelled off. Not a fan.
Lastly, we get the bill and it’s almost $100 without tip. Upon looking closer at the bill we ended up getting charged for different things that were all $1-2 more than that we expected.
Overall, this was a lackluster experience and wildly overpriced for the lack of quality. Also, there’s nothing authentic Mexican about a steamed veggie wrap,...
Read moreJust discovered this place and ate here the evening of 8/19 with my husband his friend that was up for a visit and my son. The atmosphere is really cute and strangely cozy considering when we first pulled up it was in an almost industrial looking building. When you turn into the parking lot in the rear of the building, go all the way to the end and you'll find the entrance which also includes a ramp for wheelchair accessibility. Also, the bathroom is very clean and aesthetically pleasing which is also the case for the men's bathroom I'm told by my dining companions.
To start, we got the queso dip which was hands down the best I'd ever had! I got a michelada, which not all Mexican places seem to have, and this too exceeded my expectations. All our entrees were fantastic. I got the burrito with short rib which I could eat every day and my son got the flag enchilada dish which was delicious. I forgot to ask them but both the corn and flour tortillas were so good I suspect they were made in house. Normally tortillas don't have much of a flavor to me but these were very tasty and fresh. Didn't get any desert but this is the kind of place that when I return I would definitely get one because it would be worth eating which is not how I feel about most restaurants. I realized after I posted my review I forgot to mention how awesome the staff and service were! They were so welcoming and genuinely friendly and very attentive. As we were eating, I saw other people coming in to eat and many of them I'm assuming were regulars but they were greeted like friends ❤️ I hope others have as wonderful a time as we had and we'll definitely return. I only wish we were closer than a...
Read moreAt first when driving up to the place for dinner after sunset, it didn't look like there was a restaurant there. Driving down to the other end of the yard though, where a few cars were parked, revealed a decorated outdoor seating area at the end of the building and lit windows of the dining room. Upon entering we were the only ones there. Ledt us wondering if the Google reviews were accurate for this place. We were immediately greated and seated. Service was good, food was good. Everything went well except for one thing which wasn't a huge deal, but something that shouldn't need to happen when out to eat, but sometimes things happen for whatever reason. One of the dishes we ordered was chicken chimichangas, but when we got it there was pork inside instead of chicken. It wasn't what we ordered, but nothing that we couldn't live with and we just rolled with it. It was cooked well and tasted good. Since we discovered it when served and not like they came to us saying they couldn't do chicken or something, we figure there was some communication mixup. Other than that it lives up to the high Google reviews rating. We would...
