Hondo's Hideaway — Restaurant in Jamestown

Would have given 3 and a half but google doesn't do half stars. Went to Hondos for lunch on Saturday. I'll start out with the restaurant itself. The vibe is kinda dive bar, but also tries to be fancy (fire wall by bathrooms) it seems slightly confused. We started off with tater kegs which I have to say were absolutely fantastic. Great bacon and cheddar flavor and loved the seasoned sour cream. Me and my wife then shared the chicken tender melt. The bacon, bread, and cheese were fantastic, but the chicken tender was really lacking. I understand the kitchen is small, but I was expecting a bit higher quality of chicken or hand made for around $14. The Nashville hot sauce was very good I thought. We had a family member with a walker and not only did the staff not help when asking if there was an available table, but even when I mentioned I had a child and one person needing a place accessible for a walker or wheelchair they told me to just find a table. Then it was a long wait and we never had the same server. We also had to wait a long time for our food (over 45 minutes), but one of our party didn't get their food until 20 minutes after the rest of us received our meal. The 1/2 pound Hondo burger wasn’t just typical pub food… Thoughtful ingredients and perfectly crafted- it truly was an elevated taste experience. Everything balanced perfectly- the burger was well seasoned and cooked to perfection, the jalapeños were bright, crunchy and smokey, perfectly toasted brioche bun and the Hondo sauce!

The wavy fries were, in fact, better!!! Crispy and well-seasoned!
