Yoli’s, one of our faves lately 🫶🏻🍝 #pittsburgh #pittsburghpa #pasta #food #pizza

Our first trip to Yoli's was a memorable one. Our party of five stopped by after attending a graduation and we each got something different. All of our meals were incredible. I was in the mood for a sandwich so I tried The Bethany - an herb-grilled chicken breast with fresh mozzarella, tomato, fresh basil drizzled with balsamic glaze on a fresh baked, perfectly-crisped hoagie roll. It might be one of the best sandwich I've ever eaten. My wife got the steak salad which included an actual steak (not shaved or chipped) that was cooked to perfection - you could cut it with a fork. The salad included a mix of cooked red onion, mushrooms, and red pepper all marinated in an olive oil herb blend. Delicious! The menu included appetizers (incl wings), salads, pizzas (build your own or specialty), sandwiches, and dinners. A few tables ordered their pizzas. I caught a few going by our table and instantly regretted not trying one. They smelled incredible. Not pizza shop pizza, but more artesian. The wait staff was friendly, personable, and attentive. Jami (our waitress) made sure we had everything we needed, quickly taking care of any special requests we had. The chef came out to make sure everything was to our liking. Had a few laughs and joked with us. You could tell he's passionate about the quality of food he serves in his restaurant. He was a great guy. We went a little later at night (around 8pm on a Friday) and while it was still very busy, we were able to get seated with little wait. This is right near the end of the pandemic, so I have a feeling we got lucky getting a seat so fast. Masks are not required, but some patrons had them on. Everything was handled in a way that made our party feel safe. The atmosphere and decor was pleasant and inviting. To me it had a hometown feel. A big bar area with TVs, next to it were tables and booths that opened up to a big room with additional seating. It looks like they could accommodate large parties and gatherings with little effort. We'll DEFINITELY be going back. I'm going to make it my goal to try everything on the menu starting with one of those pizzas! That's how good it was...

Six of us stopped here today for an early dinner because the photos on Google maps looked appetizing, especially the wings. We started with the Yoli Roli. They were outstanding and way bigger than we thought they would be. I ordered a dozen wings, of course. They serve uncut whole jumbo wings. I had them tossed in "The Roberto" sauce, which is a combination of buffalo, honey, and garlic parmesan. A serious sauce combo; it was terrific. Overall, the wings were very good. I'm extremely impressed, especially because I would never expect these at a quaint Italian restaurant. I usually have to go into back ally bars to find whole wings this good. It's hard to tell since they were sauced, but I believe the wings had a light flour dusting (light breading). Their fryers are clean, everything was cooked correctly and tasted right. If you want really good whole wings cooked correctly, and you want to go somewhere with a full Italian menu, no smoking, and a nice ambiance, this is your #1 pick in all of Greater Pittsburgh.

1st time here. Will never go back. Food was average. Nothing stood out. The menu has some different items…like the Brussels sprouts, tiger shrimp. The sprouts were fine. Shrimp was tough. My friend got Christy Park Tour and said the sauce was sour. I got a pizza-ugh. Dough was underdone. No real taste of sauce or meatballs. Very blah/bland. The side salad that came w my friend’s meal looked very nice and big. But the other portions were small. We took take out as well for our kids. Very, very small portion of chix parm, side pasta. Especially compared to Carbonara’s and Abruzzi’s. But, the kicker was-my friend ordered pep rolls also to take out. When she got home, no pep rolls. She texted me asking if I got them in my take out, I said no. She immediately called Yoli’s and said these were missing. They would not remove the $12 charge but said come in tomorrow for them. OK-not exactly convenient, but paid 4 them, might as well go get them. The next morning Yoli’s called and said do not bother coming in, you probably left them on the table therefore we are not giving you any rolls. Wow! We made sure to get out to go bags. The table was cleared as we ate…as we left very close to closing time. One table remained. Staff was cleaning…sweeping up. So we departed/grabbed our bags. We spent over $200 on meals, apps, drinks. Tipped 20% or more as our waitress was very nice and great at her job!!! But to not give what was paid for? $12. We will never return. Older folks w disposable income-who treat staff well. Cannot return 4 avg food and the fact they would not credit the $12 or give her what she paid for. And 1st place I been to w this...

Was so excited to try a bunch of menu items. I honestly think I chose incorrectly in the end. We odered Pepperoni rolls, the great white fries, 1/2 philiponi steak sandwich, 1/2 meatballs sandwich and side salads. Starting with the salad. I'll take the hit on this one. I don't like spring mix. It was very leafy and stemmy. Not my thing. I wasn't a huge fan of the housemade dressing either. The good: the salad was huge, and stacked with topping! Lots of peppers, cheese, olive cucs, and tomatoes. Best was the parm cheese on it..there was alot. The fries and peperoni rolls were brought out at the same time, which I was ok with. The Pepperoni rolls were probably the best ive ever had! The fries had an amazing taste but they were barely warm. Sad. The steak sandwich ehhh. I liked that it was actually steak. It was very dry and i feel like they closed their eyes while cutting my bun, which ended up being 3/4 on one side and 1/4 on the bottom. Ill take some credit for this one also as I chose this over 2 other things that I wanted more. I think I'd have been much happier with the two italian things, had I got those. This was our 1st visit, so I wasn't sure if I'd like the sauce. The sauce was great though with the rolls. My husband enjoyed the meatball hoagie.

We'd like to try them again. The Pizzas, (one of the things I wanted), that were delivered around me, looked amazing. Pizza and pasta next time! And of course those Pepperoni rolls!!

Will review again and adjust according if I make it back...
