Have been a customer for years. It recently came under new management and appeared to have made many changes so for our annual bike club gathering we (about 18 of us) we showed up at about 630 PM. We had made a reservation 2 months in advance and the guy that made the reservation called a couple weeks in advance to confirm the reservation for us with several tables in the outside seating area and all was good. When we got there we had to be seated indoors as there was no tables available. They were busy so I will give them a pass on the food delivery being slow but going on two hours later some had food, most didnt. What was brought out was cold or the wrong order. When the new female owner came through and overheard some complaints she verbally attacked several of us and said they were busy and we would just have to get over it. The. She started an argument with the guy that made the reservations about how she didnt get the reservation until last week, which was bull as it was done 2 months prior and confirmed a couple weeks before. She literally spent about 15 minutes yelling at us, the customers. One of our guys decided he would by $75 in drinks for everyone and when getting the drinks, mentioned the incident to the guy tending bar, which happened for be the male owner, who proceeded to verbally attack him. We have used Carsonville for well over a decade but will be taking our business elsewhere from here forward. I can only hope that they learn that we pay your bills with our orders. You rely on us not the other way around. Maybe the only way they will get it is to lose their business and let the restaurant go to someone who realizes you can't have the millennial attitude and run a successful business. We also tried to post a review on their Facebook page and found they are cherry picking reviews and when you try to PM the owners, they don't respond. Big surprise, huh? Oh and I just read the "owners" reply. Yes, PLEASE SHOW ME people throwing food at your servers. PLEASE! But you wont because we didn't. Did we keep asking your people where our food was after two hours? Yep. Did we complain when we didn't get food, got cold food or the wrong orders? Yup. Were many of our group ready to get up and walk out without paying for what we ordered? Yep. But we did keep telling the blonde waitress Brandy, or Dennis, that we knew it wasn't their fault. HOWEVER, thank you for once again showing your attitude and that the ability to run a restaurant is beyond you and the guy you supposedly "run" it with. Also the reservation was made with Dennis. The reason? You said you were too busy to take the reservation so he wrote it in the book at the bar. Remember when you called Bill, the one that made the reservations, a liar and he told you that this would wind up on review sites. So, to that end, I'll start with Trip Advisor, Yelp, etc. and work my way down. I'll make sure you get all the credit. You may not miss our business, but you will remember this interaction with customers that have been going there for over a decade. Oh and don't forget to...
Read moreNever have I had such an experience to make me feel as if I should walk out without paying for the meal. Our group has been eating at Carsonville Hotel for many years every year as we start off our weekend get together. We are usually a group of around 20 to 25 and we understand the slow service that comes with the establishment and use the time to hang out and share a few drinks. With the restaurant under new ownership, I was looking forward to seeing the changes and was anticipating possibly having better service as well. Almost 2 months before, our reservations were placed requesting outside seating unless there was inclement weather. Upon arrive our group of 18 were informed that we were informed that they had us set up inside, which we indicated our request and reservations were for outside. The female owner immediately went into defensive mode telling us that our reservation had just shown on her books last week, and that we were inside. We found our seats inside; however, again requested to have our group outside. Again denied, we proceeded to place our orders. Food began coming out about an hour later with some people getting partial food orders and others receiving nothing. Two hours went by and some of our group still had only a part of their order and others still waiting on food. We began complaining amongst ourselves at which time the female owner became verbally abusive to us. We were not complaining to her but she had overheard our complaints and again complained that we had just made the reservation thus making it sound like we were the ones at fault for our poor service and her poor attitude. Food was continuing to come from the kitchen practically being thrown onto tables. Several of our group started rejecting to accept the food at this point. In an effort to get past the experience, one of our members decided to order a shot for everyone in our group spending $80. He spoke to the male owner calmly trying to explain the bad experience we had just had and said that they need to look at how things are being handled as many of us were not only there in the group, but returning customers in smaller groups as well and after tonight’s experience none of us desired returning. If this is the type of treatment that others receive, their business was not going to thrive. The owner responded with attitude as well. I would say if you are stopping here with more then 2 people on a busy night, do so expecting that the owners and kitchen staff will be ready to throw you attitude and put the blame on you if you are unhappy with the way they do things.
Response to Owners: Send the video. Post it. Sorry, you feel the need to attack your customers that you do not agree with. We have had Dennis and Brandy for years and we understand they do what they can. We are ok with the bad service, we are not ok with the attitude. Never have we experienced a verbal attack because we were unhappy. We appreciate what our server did. We did not appreciate what you,...
Read moreI write this as I am eating my steak in a styrofoam container, at a 25 percent discount. We arrived at approximately, 7:10-7:15ish. Our server greeted us with menus and shortly came to take our order. She sat in the chair aside us and read us back our order twice to make sure it was entered correctly. So far so good.
We ordered broiled seafood, a 14 oz ribeye, Wings, and two salads. We sat until 8:20 and asked the server if we could have our salads. She acted like she was surprised we’d want our salads first. We also asked where the wings were and we were told the kitchen was busy. In the meantime, all tables around us were receiving food. They either were there when we arrived or came afterwards.
At 8:40 (20 minutes after we asked for a salad), I went to the bar to talk to the manager. And explained that we hate to complain but that she should know what was going on. My wife had to leave by 9 PM for work. I went back to the table and our salads and my wife’s seafood had arrived. But not the wings or my medium rare steak. The manager asked if we wanted to box everything up. We said yes and we did.
My baked potato never received cheese and was very small. The steak was fine and the seafood was also fine. We ate this at home out of styrofoam containers.
The manager took 25 percent off our bill and said it takes an hour to make meals. I am not upset if there were mistakes, but am upset at how it was handled. There is no way it should take over an hour for two side salads. And then, they took 25 percent off a meal we never enjoyed at the establishment. I was embarrassed to even ask for help and will never be back. We were really looking forward to a nice dinner with no kids for one evening. The food was fine from what we could tell at home, but the service was a disappointment. I do...
