First off We weren't sure if it was open b.c. we didn't see any lights on in the dining area..... but we risked it and they were open.
First time here since new ownership. First walking in is closed off now. Weird how it's set up. It's super quiet and plain. Like stale chips. Dead baby bear rug displayed... Dead deer rugs displayed... Dead foxes... Picture of black stallion.... frame a full of Razer blades.. fishing pole on the wall.. some Country decor.. palm tree luau in the back beck... Jack daniels barrel.. Like what's going on??
The onion blossom was super good! Ranch would have been a better choice instead of the horseradish dip in the middle!! Wigs were pretty good! A little chewy for my taste but my husband loved them!
Women's bathroom is down steps and they do not lock. Can barely close the door. Which is awful!! Also the light is outside of the door..... So when you're peeing someone could just turn it off. The bathroom upstairs for the ladies is out of order...
We we're kind if hesitant to come b.c. we kept hearing it was a biker gang bar but it didn't seem that way while we were there. Just a few people at the bar and us. Very dead for a Monday night.
Waitress was super nice. A little shy. She was the bar lady to. So she kept having to run back to the bar and back to us but did...

BLUF: Food was (only) okay. Service was horrible.
When we walked in, there were only 3 seated tables, and we were told they couldn't seat us for 20 minutes. Since I was in a walking boot after recent surgery, we asked to be allowed to at least sit at one of the many empty tables, and they obliged. 20 minutes later, a disgruntled waitress came to us and complained that someone else should have been there sooner, but promptly took our orders. When we got our food, my steak was prepared as my husbands was to be, and his as mine was to be - I sent mine back to be less rare. It was too late for his. The waitress had forgotten to bring out salads, and we had to ask for them after we got our meals. The steak/prime rib was good; veggies looked to be from a can. We weren't sure why service was so slow when there were only a handful of tables the whole time we were there, but someone in shorts and a T-Shirt came and apologized (?) ! The only part of the service that was quick was the check. That came fast, and she was quick to cash it out (well before we were finished eating)! We will truly miss going to the Laurel...
Read moreStopped in last week for lunch. It was colder inside than it was outside. We felt unwanted when we walked in and asked for menus. We ordered, food took a long time, but what is still blowing my mind is the food that was served to us. The fries had to have been a month old, there was no potato to them, and was the worst taste ever. I spit it out and my boyfriend’s fish was just old breading. We had one bite each and as bad as we felt telling them we couldn’t eat it because it was so bad, we were worried about getting sick. We were told the fries were just cut. I have worked as a cook for many years and never would I ever have served that food to anyone. We would’ve rather been told sorry, no food available than wait for it and then get an attitude about it being horrible. So sad, this place was so good years ago as Laurel Mountain Inn. This was an experience that will never be forgotten, we will not return and hope nobody else gets food there and...
