So yes, I got into this place! Me and the man who drives with me high tailed it out of the big city to the NEK (North by north East kingdom). Let me first say, there was lighting in the sky!! Nature is our God. And we parked near the house of god (note the lowercase ) by the river. Then we stomped our way to Moog's Joint, the Spanky's of the East! The rain was coming down mighty fierce for a moment but me and my boy didn't let up. I said "We gotta get to Moog's Joint." My HAUNCH hurt due to weak core and glute strength but I'm working on that, nothing is forever. My good friend waited up for me. Then the sky opened and ol' Hannah bid us goodnight with a beautiful twilight painting. We bumrushed the door at Moog's Joint and when we got it to the establishment...we set back! I ate borger and the man I drive with had something only he would order for dinner, not a snack, it was his dinner. Then we loved life! Talked to man with spongbob shoes and looked in the bathroom. I hope I meet a sturdy woman one day and we have 2 strong sons, and if that wish comes to pass then me and my family could all fit in the bathroom here at Moog's Joint, that's how spacious it is. There are two bathrooms. It's really a guessing game as to how MANY fellas can jam in there. No jamming (music) this evening due to no musicians . Not a criticism just a fact. When them boys an gals get up on stage to play, why I'm just certain they do it right proud. And then we slept in the woods! I love Moog's Joint!!!!! Would you press the back to monkey button? Moog's...
Β Β Β Read moreThe reason we ended up at Moog's was that it was late, every place had an hour wait, we were hungry, and when we called the guy said they could seat us immediately and their food was great. He did not lie.
From the outside, Moog's looks unassuming and the interior is simple to say the least; except for the art on the walls which is amazing. The menu is quite good and includes vegetarian options. We ordered the fried zucchini sticks for starters and they were delicious. Everyone in our party ordered something different and we all raved about our food. My grilled portobello mushroom sandwich was fantastic. The portions are good and it's very reasonably priced.
The staff has a friendly, easy going vibe that made us all feel welcome. Oh and the art on the walls is by a local artist and it's for sale. I bought the piece that was hanging over our table and another in our group bought a piece too. We also had a person who bought one of their tshirts which is funky and fun.
We come to Smugglers Notch every summer and Moog's will definitely be one of our destinations from now on. I highly recommend...
Β Β Β Read moreI really enjoyed the meal I ate here, and the owner is a wonderful person. I had the dry rub wings and enjoyed them thoroughly. While the prices on some of the larger entrees can seem daunting, there are affordable options that are just as delicious. Live music on Mondays and open mics on Tuesdays. I would thoroughly recommend Moog's Joint, especially if you love their original incarnation in Morrisville, Moog's Place. Really great to see a new place in Johnson.
The food is always good, and the waitstaff is friendly. I have a very small stomach, and so I didn't finish the soup that came with my meal even though it was delicious. Two different people made sure to ask me if everything was okay, which was really sweet. yes!! it was!! I was enjoying a lovely evening with friends and Moog's is the perfect...
