Joplin Café — Restaurant in Joplin

Service is good until about 3 pm. The service at dinner has gone down hill. We were seated without silverware and had to ask for water. We were given excuses that they got super busy, but I saw 4 empty tables. We had 4 at our table and every order came back with something wrong. Forgot mayonnaise that was requested for fries (never got it) didn't bring a dinner salad when I ordered the Avocado Fit sandwich - she didn't even bother to check what it was and said she had never heard of it. My dad asked for grilled fish. - cooks made breaded (and the server clearly wrote grilled on the order). And another dinner was a 1/2 chicken and she didn't bring one of the sides until we pointed it out. A blonde server, who rides a motorcycle, spent more time chatting and being on her phone and neglecting her tables that she didn't hear the cooks continually hitting the bell for her to pickup food. The whole time our server was running around the restaurant acting like she was overworked, flustered and acted unprofessional the entire time we were there. She told us she was taking over 3 days a week for the owner and I pray that doesn't happen or this business will go down hill quickly. This used to be our favorite spot, but some of the servers are so bad that it makes the whole experience no longer enjoyable. So we will go elsewhere...

4/22/23. Disappointed when ordering asked specifically something for our salads, when salads arrived the extra ranch didn't arrive, we pointed that out, she said she would get it, never arrived normally we arrive a lot earlier and Julie is the hostess she doesn't miss anything when she's gone we had this waitress twice, very sad. We will try to make sure not to visit when Julie not there. The food is good. July 31st 2022 update wow we're back to the same ole same ole, we dealt with an unusual amount of flies but we handled that what we couldn't understand is why the waitress that waited on us never even came by to fill our drinks, our stay was about an hour, but the icing on the cake that waitress is on the other side of the wall that is open where we were at and you can hear them griping about another employee instead of taking care of their customers. Evidently the word professionalism clearly does not exist, their customers support the business too bad the employee can't support the customers. It will be a while before we come back like before we hope they really...

First time there..big breakfast! Ham,sausage toast or b&gravey2 eggs over med with hash browns...mmmmm....all good ....I'll be back! Clean place! Great menu !prices ok!! Go get some!!!.......ok fast forward IV been in here a.on about 6 occasions in about 3 weeks..highly unusual for me anywhere..but..this place excells on food, service and deserts!! My big thing is I'm a patty melt conisurer. This has to be the most perfect one in all of Missouri if not the country! Also their ruebans, Philly steak sandwich..everything top shelf cooking!a always good experience!? If you dare to come here with their amazing menu..you won't go any where else for a long time..so many things I want to try..this is my favorite place...already thinking about their catfish,pancakes..off the hook big as your plate,chicken Parmesan,all kinds ofexican plates.get in your car now...go to Joplin cafe..gives restraints a good name..hardly any place around holds a candle to Joplin cafe..cooks..you are above amazing..service like none other.just got home from there again..pardon my...
