Sommelier of 21 years here: this winery represents one of my all-time favorite winery visits anywhere in the world. The place couldn't be more authentic: from the cottage the owner built with his own hands, to the English landscape garden he himself planted and sculpted, to the farm-and-ranch vineyard operation he founded and runs, to the humble tell-it-like-it-is genuine hospitality.
The wines themselves vie for my favorite in Oregon, with both quality and uniqueness of character matching or besting anything from more famous sub-AVAs throughout Willamette Valley, most with far greater sell price; and considering the total package: I visited literally dozens of wineries on this trip--my 4th to date to Willamette Valley--and Antiquum stood above them all.
Don't expect a fuss; expect statement-piece excellence in your glass served in a relaxed setting. This winery is THE gem in the otherwise viticultural neglect that to date defines the Lower Long Tom region...

The story behind the winery was incredible: we learned about "Grazing-Based Viticulture", and how they create an ecosystem where the animals and wine influence each other, all while minimizing impact on the land and producing great wine in the process. Well worth hearing their story!
