Fire + Smoke BBQ — Restaurant in Kanarraville

I had spent the better part of half the day on horseback, and decided to grab a bite to eat locally before heading over to Zion. I looked up top rated restaurants near me, sorted by BBQ, and saw this small looking spot almost an hour away from me. With 5/5 stars and over a hundred reviews, being off the beaten path it must be pretty good.

I'm glad I made the drive out. The brisket was cut-with-a-fork tender and smoky, the pulled pork was moist and perfectly prepared, and the mac and cheese was probably the best I have ever ordered dining out. On food alone, 10/10.

The owner later came out from the kitchen between orders, and made a lap through the dining space. He stopped at each table, checked that the food was meeting and exceeding expectations for his customers, and thanked them "for making us a part of your day". I thought this was just about the classiest thing I have witnessed in any restaurant, bar none.

Wow! Fantastic BBQ place! We did the 2 proteins and one side dishes. Brisket melts in your mouth. Ribs are cooked to perfection. And the pulled pork hit the spot! I would recommend the Mac and cheese over the fries for a side even though I normally wouldn’t. The BBQ sauces went with everything. The spicy is my favorite as it has a rich sweet flavor to it without it being hot. Even the pop was delicious lol. The owners even came up to chat with us at our table and were super friendly.

We called ahead (~20 minutes) so that the food would be ready when we arrived. We thought it was going to be busy but it wasn’t at all when we got there. But we saw some people wait a bit to get their order when they order there. Just in case you’re in a rush!

Also, double check when they are open as we had this place on the docket to have dinner here for like a week but then kept realizing they were closed or we wouldn’t make it there in time. But that’s on us lol.
