The staff here are completely rude. They changed the menu prices and do not have the correct menu listed online on Google or Yelp. I told them it was false advertisement. They didn't even tell me my total when I ordered my food. The manager claims this ain't OCharleys or any other restaurant and it's my fault for not asking for the total. When u have an outdated menu posted on 2 different websites then you're probably not ready to be in competition with OCharleys or any of the other professional restaurant chains. Will never return and would not recommend.
Update: Post Owners Response- As can clearly be seen here the Owner is still being very rude in his reply and to post someone's name in a public forum shows that he clearly does not respect customers right to privacy. But I won't remove my review because he decided to post my name. I believe it speaks volumes to how this owner treats customers. It is my choice whether I had a good visit or not and I am entitled to let the public know about my experience. Do not do business with these folks. They do not put the customer first. I am disgusted at the very unprofessional and rude behavior. Do not waste your time. There is better food elsewhere and I'm certain that more professional places will not post your personal information if you happen to have a not so good experience. Be wary of these type of people.
Oh and it wasn't a $2 difference. My total after tax should have been around $18. U tried to charge me $22 and change. That's a nearly $5 markup from your ADVERTISED prices. Read moreI use to eat here once a week. I don’t know if they got a different cook or what happened but the last few times I ate here it was not good. I like to get the soul rolls and they were not cooked enough nor was the okra. It was very disappointing. I tried it again a few months later still not good. I really feel bad writing this because the owner is super nice she was not there tonight. I’m sure if she was there this would not of happened. I have not ate there in awhile but I had a door dash tonight there. I had two separate orders. One of the orders was done after 15mins of waiting. I told the young man I had another order I was waiting on and I had already mention to the lady I had 2 door dash orders and I told her the names. He goes in the back and comes back to the says to the lady did you take that door dash order she said yeah he said you forgot to put it in. I waited about 10 to 15 more mins. Then I asked the young man if he knew how much longer. He goes to ask the cook I can hear him yelling they have to wait!!!! He comes to tell me I have to wait I tell him I have already. Been waiting 25 to 30 mins he goes back and I can hear the cook yelling they have to wait there are other orders. First of all that’s rude you don’t yell like that at a young man. I recently had the misfortune of dining at Vell’s, and I can confidently say it was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve ever encountered in a restaurant. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the unwelcoming atmosphere created by the management, who appeared completely indifferent to customer satisfaction.
As soon as I entered, I was greeted not with a smile, but with rude remarks from the owner. It was evident that they had little respect for their patrons, as they screamed at customers and treated everyone with blatant disregard. Their unprofessional behavior set a negative tone for the entire visit.
The place smelled of roaches and old grease.
The kitchen's hygiene practices were equally appalling. It was clear that old grease was being reused, which left an unpleasant taste and raised serious health concerns. The pots and pans looked ancient, with visible metal flaking off—definitely not the kind of cookware you want to see in a restaurant that’s supposed to serve food.
Needless to say Vell’s is a place I cannot recommend under any circumstances. The combination of ignorant management, rude staff and unsanitary conditions, makes it an establishment that should be avoided at all costs. Save your money and seek out a restaurant that values its customers and prioritizes quality.
