The first time I visited this place was for the Ribbon Cutting ceremony through the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The second time was with my friend because it’s a good halfway point. I met my friend here again and was severely disappointed. The gal behind the counter said the drip coffee only had one more pour and she’d make me more. 20 minutes into waiting I had to go up to the counter and she had forgotten. Most likely because she was on her phone. The quiche was runny, but because I was hungry, I ate it but most likely won’t order it again. When the gal came to the table to apologize, it was evident we had finished our breakfast yet she didn’t offer to pick up our plates. When she came back with the fresh coffee, I had to hand her our plates. As a former waitress, these are basic skills. I’m not sure if...

Not family friendly. Not a place to do homework or bring friends to play board games even though they have them sitting out. We were told they have 30 minute time limit even though they weren't busy. We go to other coffee shops and sit to do work from time to time. I was told by a family member this was a family owned business and wanted to try it out to support local. We spent $40. Tipped well. We ordered our drinks and were sitting at the table engaged and doing some work. I was told very rudely that homeschoolers are not welcome. As I was packing up to leave, before I could stop her, my 1st grader very proudly walked up to the lady to show her some work she'd done. The lady said, " This ain't your living room. Do school at home. I will never go back here again. I...

Really cute place in heart of Turner across from Old Elementary School, now the community center. My sis invited me. Fresh ground coffee right there in front of you. Has nice sitting tables couch inside & outdoor flower garden area. Books for children in one area & adult books clo se by. FRIENDLY service older couple showed us the back patio & offered to show our younger one t he names of the plants & flowers. Good selection of pastry, some food, & other drinks like smoothies & sodas. It was my 1st time, I will be back ! Also some nice art & more. Golden Bear Latte was very good ( a little honey, milk & cinnamon )😋 Niece had Hot chocolate (whip cream on top)sprinkle doughnut, .. 2 coffees & split a tasty lemon filled pastry only...

I’ve been to a lot of coffee shops and this is one of the best surprises. I found myself in an area of town unfamiliar to me in need of a place to rest my laptop and work. The place is perfect for this but their drinks are even better. I enjoyed a homemade unique chai latte first. Then I ventured to try their seasonal Yuzu Matcha Lemonade, where they mix the matcha with an actual Japanese matcha wisk. The drink flavors are fun and different. They have baked noms, breakfast and lunch options. They have a sweet back yard patio for those lovely KC days. I will venture back next time I’m in the area. The staff are amazingly kind and friendly! Check this place out when you are in the Kansas City metro.

Circumstances don’t take me to Turner all that often, but Windmill KC is actually excuse enough to make the drive. This is a local coffee spot committed to diversity in a part of town with a sometimes less than stellar reputation in that department. The staff and owner showed a strong commitment to getting our orders exactly right, and the result was delicious. Though the main dining area was noisy and crowded (and seating somewhat limited), they offered to open up the patio for us. This proved to be a beautiful, plant-filled, quiet spot behind the shop, where we enjoyed our drinks and watched a storm move in. Weather permitting, I highly recommend the patio experience.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. My son participates in the toddler time Sponsored by Turner early learning center. Every other Friday they host a session at the windmill. The staff is so welcoming to all the wild toddlers, they are so patient. There are books and puzzles for the kids to play with. The owners are so supportive and excited to see the kiddos each day. My son loves coming to the coffee house and seeing his friends from class and all his friends that work here. Thank you so much for the delicious coffee and a great hang out! Definitely try the Carmelo ice hot. It’s the best!
