The Cove — Restaurant in Kansas

If 0 stars were available, that is what I'd give the service my friend and I recieved today! First off our waitress was kind yes, but I believe undertrained or lost track of proper return times because waiting for our check and to go order took longer than actually eating our food did. We decided to split an appetizer because we wouldn't be able to finish a whole appetizer each and of course we would just split the payment. After the waitress said she would see if we could spilt the check, it took her 20 mins to return and let us know we couldnt. We said okay, we gave her 1 card to pay for the appetizer instead. While waiting tor her to charge us for the appitizer, they accidentally double charged my friend on her meal. After telling them it was already refunded, 10 mins later the manager comes trying to explain that my friend was not charged twice, which we knew... we were just waiting for her to come back for the appetizer payment. FINALLY AFTER OVERALL 30 MINS WAITING FOR SUCH A SIMPLE TASK, WE GOT OUR TO GO ORDER.

THE COOK IS WHAT REALLY TOPPED EVERYTHING OFF. HE WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO.COME AND APPROACH MY FRIEND AND I TALKING MESS UNDER HIS BREATH SO HE WOULD NOT BE HEARD. HE DID THIS IN FRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS WHILE WE WERE LEAVING. HOW EMBARASSING AND IMMATURE. STAY IN A COOKS PLACE, WHICH IS IN THE KITCHEN. HE THEN PROCEEDED TO PLAY DUMB LIKE THE MANAGER WHEN I APPROACHED HER WITH THE SITUATION. HE SHOULD BE FIRED !! I WILL NEVRR RETURN TO THIS PLACE BECAUSE OF HIM. WHO GOES OUT OF THEIR WAY TALK MESS TO A CUSTOMER!? A PAYING ONE AT THAT. FOR HIM TO COME OUT OF HIS WAY TO APPROACH SAYING AM I 11 YEARS OLD !? MAKES ME WONDER HOW OLD He REALLY IS! HE WAS IMMATURE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! MAKES ME ALSO WONDER WHAT THE WAITRESSES WENT BACK AND SAID. ALL THIS BECAUSE I TOUCHED A WINDOW ON ACCIDENT AND BECAUSE THE STAFF DIDNT KNOW HOW TO...

I have had a number of fair to bad experiences at The Cove but have heard some changes have been made and wanted to give it another try. We live in Milford for goodness sake. Tonight my husband and I were disappointed in the food and lack of professionalism from management. We both ordered burgers and fried crawfish for an appetizer. The appetizer came out one minute before the burgers and were not good. We chose not to eat it, but chalked it up to "we just didn't like it" and maybe others think it's okay. Now on to my burger... I immediately noticed a piece of metal sticking out of it. At first glance it looked like a staple. My husband and I are thinking it may have been a bristle from a grill brush? The waitress was very apologetic and brought it to the attention of the cook and "manager", offered another burger, and said she would discount my meal. (I thought that meant comp it. Silly me.) She came back to ask some clarifying questions on behalf of her manager and to let me know that they don't have a grill brush and that they would bring it to the attention of their distributor. I got the feeling they (or at least the manager) didn't believe me but whatever. 🤷‍♀️ Never once did the manager come over to our table. My burger was discounted $2.60! YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! I am not blaming the waitress. POOR MANAGEMENT is the issue. If I would not have seen that and bit into it or, worse yet, swallowed it that would have cost them WAY more...

This has a great atmosphere and we were excited to try this establishment last night. Unfortunately, the service is absolutely terrible. I called in advance to see if they accept reservations for a party of 6 and was told that they do not. So I figured that there would be somewhat of a wait because it was a Saturday night. We were told 40 minutes wait when we arrived. So decided we would go inside and get a few drinks and sit outside. It took us 15 minutes for the bar tender to even look at us. Finally we got drinks and 40 minutes came and went. An hour and a half goes by and someone in our party went inside to make sure they didn’t forget about us. We were told we were at the top of the list. Another 30 minutes goes by and we ask what’s going on and we were told that we were next. Well the hostess comes outside and calls two other parties names after we were told we were next. 2.5 hours goes by the outside area is practically cleared out. Our party literally decided we would leave and get fast food because of how long we waited. We gave the buzzer back to them and they apologized and said that we can get take out and it would He ready in less than 30 minutes. It would have been nice to been told that 2 hours ago. This is unacceptable to have to wait that long when there were empty tables outside, one at which we were sitting at and we could have just ate right there. I can’t even believe they have as much...
