If you want swift service with a friendly staff this is not the place to go. Stopped in excited to try a small town place because they usually have the best food! We found this place driving in from Corpus (about two hours north) Myself and Joe pulled in and informed our friends that we were there for them to meet us and we were going to rush into the Restraunt to hurry and get seats seeing that several cars were pulling in and they were very busy. So we go inside and look around and around and around and finally find a waitress and asked about seats. We were told to sit anywhere and we would be helped in a minute. So we found a nice spot for us and our friends to catch up with once they got there. Our friends were running about 20 minutes behind us so no rush. Any way we sat down and waited and waited and waited when finally our “waitress” approaches and asked what we would like to drink. Teas we reply and some fried zucchini while we wait for our friends. 10 minutes later she shows up with our tea and then our appetizer. We didn’t think to much about it until our friends show up. They order their drinks and we all put our order in. 30 minutes later she shows up and fills everybody’s sweet teas and never returns to fill mine (unsweetened tea). Another 10 minutes after that she shows up with our friends food and says that our two will be right out. Still no Tea for me. Another 25 freaking minutes later she shows up with our food, now that our friends are done eating and says oh the cook forgot about y’all. We ordered at the exact same time as our friends and were all on the same ticket so how we we forgotten about just blows my mind. Literally throws our salads down and the bowl or what they call croutons which fall over and spills on the table. As she turns and leaves I’m asking for something more to drink I have now been there well over an hour and half with no refill. She ignores us as we are politely but loudly trying to get her attention figuring she’s obviously not hearing us. I get up and go straight to the front and ask them for some tea. I sit back down and hear the table beside us complaining about this waitress as well but at least they came in and was able to eat and leave before joe or myself ever saw our lunch. The waitress NEVER came back to our table. There was never a how was your meal, sorry it took us an hour to get you your meal and or sorry but your out of towners and we we take care of everyone else first. We were some of the first costumers there with the parking lot getting packed fast. When we left, there were only four cars left and two of them being ours. We were not greeted by anyone friendly, treated friendly by anyone and basically made to feel as a huge inconvenience to them. None of us will return to this place and any and all people I know driving through there I will definitely suggest finding a nicer, cleaner (I won’t get started with the dirty silverware or the large pieces of food on the benches or floor where our feet rested, not to mention the ceiling 🤢), friendlier place.... 98% disappointed. The ONLY thing I will say is most of the food was pretty good once we finally received it after serving everyone else in the Restraunt before they had time for us and yes I’m being literal and am underestimating the amount of time it took. We got there at 11:30 did not leave until after 2:15. DO...

We were really excited to try this place since moving to the area...the staff was nice but not very attentive. The restaurant seemed dirty. This was the worst food I've ever had at a restaurant i got the sausage and sliced brisket with German potato salad and baked beans with a slice of homemade bread. The 2 small slivers of brisket were basically jerky smothered in sauce. The baked beans were decent but seemed like they had been out all day. The German potato salad may have been good but I just didn't like the taste of them (but it was my first time eatting them that way). AND THE SAUSAGE I can not describe how disappointed I was was the middle was raw and it was soggy like it was soaking in water all day I couldn't eat most of my meal. Then we ordered dessert they didn't have any of the pies that were on the menu, so I ordered a pumpkin pie. The only good part was the crust. Oh and the bread was decent. So I ate bread and baked beans and left very...

I don't know how it's possible that this place could have a 4+ star rating. We were hoodwinked by the puffed-up rating on a road trip down to Corpus and it will forever be remembered by how awful the experience was. A lot can be forgiven if the food is excellent but it was mediocre at best and just plain awful in some cases like the brisket sandwich and the turkey special. The building is in bad shape and air conditioned poorly. The kitchen, upon leaving and taking a closer look, was not clean from what you can see from the other side of the counter. On top of all of that, the service was very slow, like Cracker Barrel on a...

We had the special, I had turkey and dressing and my husband had the roast beef. They came with green bean casserole, buttered potatoes and corn. It was all bland, no seasoning. The tea was good. I thought the place was just ran down but when we were leaving, I couldn’t help but notice how nasty the place is. The kitchen is open to the public and greasy, dust covered vent-a-hoods, grimy walls with dust settled into it and the ceiling….I’m including a picture, it’s indescribably filthy. That ceiling is stark white but so filthy it looks marbled.

Stay away. It looked cute and quaint from the road, it was hell inside. Just look at the photo I attached, dirty, not clean, food came out cold. The sausage was terrible and the sauce was like ketchup. We ordered okra soup and they brought out vegetable soup with no okra at all, the soup was decent though. The salad croutons were just stored in trash bags and open top containers, bathroom vent had 30 years of grime. Just don’t eat here…

Wife and I went on a little Motorcycle trip to "Polaks Sawsage Farm" between Karnes City and Kennedy. Visited with a friend in the area. Two shredded beef sandwiches w chips, one club sandwich w coleslaw. Good food, great friendly service. A nice light lunch for the ride back home to the coastal bend.
