Stayed in the area on a weekend vacation to traverse city and glen arbor. Food was made with quality ingredients, but prices definitely reflected that. Our order consisted of 2 chicken subs as they came (no extra toppings), fries, and onion rings, and it was $38. Initially I didn’t think much of it, but after thinking about the posted prices of the sandwiches ($11.25 each, which is fair for the size they are about 8 inches) I realized that onion rings and fries were an additional $15, that was disappointing to realize. I paid for everything I ordered and didn’t make a problem with the staff, just wanted to share my experience, as a lot of people review this location with low prices, and in my experience not so much.
On another note, the woman who took our order was very sour. I understand people can have good and bad days, but this woman was notably rude. We were being polite and patient as she asked us to “Hold on!” When we walked up to the counter. She also seemed to toss our boxes of food on the counter when she brought them to us.
One final piece, I saw a lot of stuff about breakfast here, we did not get the option to get breakfast, that could’ve been because of the time in which we went to eat, which was fine because we wanted subs, but I would like to mention breakfast was not an option...
Read moreWe are kind of local, as in my husband grew up a couple towns away from Pegtown Station. We are in the area, at, what is now our property, regularly, but had not been here before together. We decided to go out for breakfast here because my husband and his brother went there for breakfast earlier this summer. My husband thought the food was very good and was happy to share the little home cooking restaurant with me. We took the scenic route just because and arrived in Maple City at about 9:30am. Pegtown was packed and several groups in front of us were waiting as they can only seat about 30 people at a time. It was a pleasant wait and most people were very patient. The staff were very busy, but also kept on top of tables getting cleaned up right away so the next group was ready to be seated. We both had the Little Engine, which was so good. I love pancakes (too much) and so swapped out my toast for a pancake. I was very happy and satisfied with my breakfast meal this morning. We tend to like more hidden, out of the way places, like Pegtown, because the service and the food are exceptional. No disappointment here. Highly recommended!!!! Melody and...
Read moreThis place is a hidden gem. It was recommended on a fb area community page. I had reached out for tips, and advice for food and things to do. We went in for lunch the first time and ordered sandwiches. They were fresh made with noticely fresh ingredients. The restaurant is in an older building, well kept up and clean. There was plenty of seating and adequate helpful staff. We had to go back for breakfast the next morning. I ordered the French toast. Honestly, it's the best I've ever had. It was a nice thick whole grain bread used for the French Toast. My husband ordered a breakfast plate, which was ample food to feed more than one person. I also met the women (Sydney) who recommended the place. This little small town restaurant is a gem. It was obvious the locals frequent the place The staff knew everyone, and made us feel like family. The charm of this place was amazing...it was the staff, getting it right, the hustle it getting our food out to us and the...
