We came in a large group. We had reservations ahead of time. The waitress was rude and didn't care to check on us or offer to refill drinks even though it clearly stated they came with them. The food was cold and gross. We didn't get our food all together so they brought out cobbler when half the party didn't even have food yet. So they didn't get cobbler as she never cane out to see if they wanted it after the meal. Because wr were a lage party. Over 9 she automatically got a 20% tip added to the bulk. So I figured she didn't care because after all she was getting a 90.00 tip either way. The food wasn't good and it was rather expensive. They did however make amazing homemade chip's but the rest was gross definitely won't be going back to them or recommending them to anybody. And it's way far out you have no phone signal so if u didn't know where it was you'd never know it was there. Just as wrll because you can get way more and better food then our 18.00 meal that was ive cold and very small portions. It was mother's day so they did give all the ladies carnations and that was nice. Its not a big place and the restrooms are outside. They were clean though, but you need to go down some questionable steps so if your disabled pee before you get there because there's no...

Friendly knowledgeable staff at the gift shop and restaurant. We had the burger and fish & chips which we enjoyed with excellent fries. Beautiful view of Mt St Helens and the remnants of the mud flows from their deck even 35+ years later. Impressive wood beams and massive stone fireplace upon entry. Tasteful gift shop with posters at least $2 less than at gift shops further up Spirit Lake hwy. Can get helicopter rides from there to MSH for 20ish minutes. Don't miss the 80s KOMO news car that made it through the effects of the eruption (back region of parking lot). Update 7/28/17: FMG has moved to new location (previously Patty's Place). Love the location and interior but was disappointed by my meal at most recent visit. "Deli sandwich packed" with various ingredients was not as described (menu said it'd be toasted, was not, bread was sandwich style, not deli, & tomato/onion were not in it as described). Really wanted to like it, possibly just that item was the odd one out. Service was good, very pleasant staff. Berry cobbler was tasty....

We had a pretty disappointing experience here. The food was okay - my burger was super greasy, but the fries were good - but not worth the prices. The fries were 3 dollars extra, which I didn't realize when I said yes to having them with the burger - if I'd known, I would've just skipped them.

The service atmosphere was stressful. The sign at the front says "wait here and ring bell" - there is no bell. We waited to be seated and it seemed like the staff were annoyed by it. At the end, we weren't sure if we should pay at the front or at the table, and again, the response was annoyance. The bathrooms feel like a bomb shelter... but, I guess, what can you do, this close to an active volcano?

I had food poisoning after our visit. I can't say for sure whether it was related, although I ate barely anything else all day before the... violent eruption from my insides, but in hindsight, I probably should've passed on the mayo that apparently sits at room temp 24/7. Lesson learned - but even if it is the last beer for 70 miles, I'm definitely not...

Amazing view, delicious food! We live in Vancouver and decided to take a trip to Mt st Helens and looked for a good place to eat on the way, we looked at the reviews and decided this was the place. So glad we came. The food was delicious, I had the fish & chips, the beer battered fish was crispy and delicious, the tartar sauce was home made. The burgers were huge! The chili on the chili cheese fries were homemade and very good. The kids meals come with a LARGE portion a little car toy & even a scoop of ice cream for dessert. My favorite things about this restaurant were the amazingly beautiful view on the back deck, the best darn cobbler I’ve probably ever had(and I’m from the south) and such friendly waitresses/staff. Great experience, we will be back when we visit again. I’d love to try more delicious menu items.

Pleasantly surprised!!! All the way around service, food, atmosphere, cleanliness. Our whole experience was 5 stars āļø. If you are looking for something fancy you will be disappointed because this is casual dining taken to a level that was not expected. Was thinking just try a salad and wound up having burgers. The servers suggestions were on point from the blue cheese burger as well as the pull pork/pepper jack burger, side salad surprised me great and house made ranch, to dessert with berry cobbler. Neither one of us expected it to taste so good and be so fresh with a ā€œlike grandma use to makeā€ taste. simple and DELICIOUS!!!! Oh yeah can’t beat the view.

This is a cozy place to eat on your way to or from Mt. St. Helen's. The servers are friendly and the food is fantastic . They even have a burger challenge! Lots of beautiful artwork inside and plenty of outside seating both covered and un covered. Inside was rustic but charming . Only downside is they serve coconut prawns and fry everything else in the same oil so if you have a coconut allergy anything deep fried is off limits . Waitress was very nice and accommodating to our food allergies (dairy/nuts) would deffinetly stop here again if we are in the area !
