Updated from 3/22/2015 Visit: Got some fish sandwiches and tarter sauce to go and was pleased as always that the fish tasted the same. The fish tasted fresh as always and did not have that frozen and thawed taste to it. I am always amazed at how good this is, for the past 9 months I have been eating fish from "below standards" fast food and other restaurants and NOTHING compares to the fish here. Yes I did have to wait about 30-40 minutes for the food but it was WELL worth the wait. 5/5 starts still.
My family has a cottage on Big Turkey Lake and we've been coming here for the past 30+ years. The thing that makes the tavern so great is hands down the fish dinners and the fish sandwiches. And as amazing as the fish is.. the tarter sauce is even better, I spent the better part of a month trying to make a sauce that matched what is sold here, but failed in my every attempt. To say it is good is an injustice to this sauce, it is so great it should be classified as divine. Now I have hooked my wife and kids on the wonders of the Turkey Lake Tavern and as long as the building stands my family and future generations to come will return for the fish and sauce and the great memories it creates,
Thank you Turkey Lake Tavern for never changing and always coming through with a winning tradition. Just talking about the tarter sauce and fish makes my...

Myself, I ordered the blt, not looking at cost. But wow! Pretty pricey for a simple BLT, ($12-ish) but was good, as most always are wherever gotten. Hard to mess up a BLT, and the bacon was spot-on cooked! The others in my party got a cheeseburger, sweet potato fries, and liked both. However swapping fries with another at our table, decided the regular fries were best. The other with me couldn't decide what to choose so he got a lot! Chili, he said was very good. The fried fish sandwich with fries, he deemed the fish good too. And fried green tomatoes. Some folks like them with cornmeal, I prefer flour breaded. These were meal. And a kind of sauce for dipping, not ranch, that may have been Thousand island, may have been akin to tarter sauce, I don't know, I don't like either one! They got pie afterwards, and liked it. Decent food off the normal beaten path for us. Coming in, there were only bar patrons, no diners. The waitress said we got there at the right time, the crowds would be coming in soon. She knew that one! They started piling in, 5 tables came within 30 minutes. We finished and left soon after that with full stomachs, and ½ of a...

Delivered a load of🐠 fish 🐟 here. If you so happen to deliver here. You need to enter where it says ENTER.
STAY WIDE RIGHT. TURN LEFT IMMEDIATELY DOWN THIS LITTLE DRIVEWAY THAT'S BEHIND THEIR BUILDING. YOU'LL UNDERSTAND WHY YOU SHOULD'VE STAYED WIDE RIGHT ENTERING. IT'S A TREE THAT YOUR TRAILER WILL CLEAR IF DONE CORRECTLY.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND TAKING THE STREET AHEAD OF YOU WHEN ENTERING THE RESTAURANT. IT DOES WRAP AROUND. IT'S JUST FOLKS HOUSES AND CAN GET REAL MESSY, REAL FAST FOR YA!
10/10:30am someone will be there. They open @ 11am.
Their fish was high in reviews. So I wanted to see what the fuss was about. I personally think on a scale of 10. It's a 6/7. It's that tartar sauce that gives it that pop. So solid 8.
The Colossal Shrimp🍤 I wanted to turn back around for. OMG they were prepared and cooked just right. Nice batter of a crunch to complement the shrimp. I wish they had some grits to go with them. They do not serve breakfast.
Overall my experience was nice. I'd come to deliver or stop by if passing...
