The ice cream is good it’s shipped in from a distributor called Bliss Ice cream, it’s not made by goose rock dairy which I don’t think they claim they do. So that’s fine, but if your reviewing Goose rocks Dairy ice cream it’s really bliss. I Rank the ice cream at about a 6 to a 7 on a scale of 1-10. Flavors are a little generic. If you want more locally made homemade ice cream you have to go elsewhere. We noticed boxes and ice cream containers the staff were throwing away marked Bliss Ice cream. Which, if you search online is a distributer like Hershey’s. The line moves, but could move a touch faster. They did open a extra order line, but probably should have done it about an hour earlier maybe it’s just at a certain time. What can you expect. Mosquitoes are out...so wow you’re waiting in line you get to hear a smattering of slaps after sunset. Again what should anyone expect. Looked like Nice seating area more out side deck patio Furnishings rather then hard wood picnic tables. Parking is good. Easy access in and out. Kiddie size is huge... small is small... and large is large not extra large. Kiddie size ice cream cone is so big that it’s nearly the same size as a large basically within a scoop. When you see how huge a kiddie size is and you order a Large only to see it’s the same size as a kiddie it’s a little disappointing. But then you realize do I need more ice cream? We had 6 adults and 2 kids. All were about the same amount of ice cream except the small was a true small. Also they ran out of a few flavors to be expected somewhat. But, of course two flavors were what 2 people wanted and they could not order them. Mint chocolate chip was one of them. I wanted this to be a 4-5 star place, but it’s no where near 5. In order to be 5 stars your saying it is the best/perfect/ greatest. This place is decent maybe a 4 at best and that’s pushing it. It’s above average but it’s not even close to a 5. People are being very nice on there reviews here and maybe they are right, but in our opinion an injection of a little reality maybe appreciated. At the end of the day it’s all a about the ice cream. The fact is the ice cream here is good not...
Read moreI was a little disappointed in the ice cream after reading reviews like “best ice cream in Maine” and “so excited to go back.” I would rate the ice cream at about 6/10. It was good but not great and definitely not the best. It was creamy and the portions were huge, so I felt like I got my money’s worth. I would definitely go there again but this time knowing what to expect instead of having very high expectations. The atmosphere was wonderful with plenty of parking and some good seating. There was a lot of variety of flavors but they were not very interesting or unique. I was quite disappointed to learn that it was not ice cream made on that farm but shipped in. I was also a bit surprised to find that it was cash only, so I had to scramble to come up with the cash to cover our order. I had the extreme chocolate (good but the chocolate chunks in it were low quality chocolate) and pistachio (standard green, chemical-tasting pistachio but with whole pistachio nuts), and I tasted the vanilla and black raspberry, which were good. The bonus was that I could get two flavors in a small, which was only slightly bigger than a...
Read moreWow! They put their whole gooseussy in to this icecream! Best I've had since I was a little creature. I had the moose tracks flavor, and I could really taste the moose meat chunks! My grandpappy and I used to hunt moose until they told him to get a permit. He used to hunt mammoths back as a youth, so being told off for hunting a little moose made him furious! The very next day grandpappy dragged three moose carcasses to the game warden's house and lit them on fire! The stench lingered for weeks! He was never bothered again for hunting. I loved my grandpappy. He showed me how to stand up for myself and not let anyone get in my way of having a good time. Speaking of good times, this icecream was one. When I fell on hard times during the great depression I made a deal with a witch to get food and money, but in turn I was cursed to be unable to eat icecream... However, in the 60s I discovered the witch didn't notice when I bit the bottom of the cone and sucked the sweet cream out. That pesky curse can't stop me from having a yummy treat! Anyways If you are in the Maine area you...
