Food is good but the service is unreliable. I am at this stop almost every morning and they need to get their pricing together. I'm tired of arguing or asking questions. Without being asked I have had only 1 piece of sausage and 2 up at the front counter on a sausage biscuit and have been charged 1.49, 1.99 and 2.29. I found out after a while that if you just go into the restaurant it's cheaper. I started going in there. I was asked what I wanted the first time and it was 1.29 for each single piece sausage biscuit. I went in again this morning and asked for 2 sausage biscuits and was given a ticket for 2.79 each. When I asked what it was the employee was a little hostile asking if that wasn't what I have been getting charged and I told him i was in the previous morning and was only charged 1.29. His response was yeah that's a single piece. You have to ask if you don't want double. I'm done getting food here. I have to ask to get a single piece of sausage on a sausage biscuit? A sausage biscuit implies a singular piece. I didn't ask for a double sausage biscuit and if I did how goes that warrant over doubling the price? I could get 2 singles for 2.58. This may be a small amount of money but I am here every morning getting a few drinks and snacks for my day. I usually spend 6-12 in here each morning depending on how I feel when I get in. That adds up. I'm done with the food part of this place. The only reason I didn't get 1 star is the food isn't bad. It's the service and pricing I am...
Read moreGood basic food, good prices, sometimes uneven service. Stopped there twice on my way through. A very pleasant surprise. Got the large sausage biscuits and gravy with hash browns. Oh, my goodness. First off portions were double what you get at that place with all the rocking chairs up front. Good basic food that filled me up till past lunch at the job site. Yes, it's a real truck stop so expect the basics. A true hole-in-the-wall place, looks like they blew out the right hand side of the gas station to make the restaurant seating. Service, meh. Got food to the customer. First time, finished coffee, set cup on side of table as a signal. Completely ignored. (thought about going by pot myself) Second time they never let it go past half. Don't get the large biscuits/gravy unless you're really hungry, or you're a farmer/construction worker. That, and the huge serving of hash browns, (for now) under $10! Checked out other plates being served up, all of it looked good. Will definitely stop by next time...
Read moreLordy. White, flavorless, room temp gravy on a biscuit. Well done hash browns showed up white (orange really from the grease). When I asked they be cooked a bit more and they came back brown but a dried greasy mess and stiff as potato chips, I understood the grease was from the fryer, not the grill. Couldn't eat it, or complain, cuz what can you say to that? Had to ask for a refill on coffee that tasted for sure like they used mop water to make it (I couldn't stomach that second cup anyway) Never had an experience like this in my 40 plus yrs of eating out. They either have no respect for food period, or they should stick to naan bread and curry's, cuz their version of southern comfort food is neither comforting nor digestible. Terrible experience all around from folks who prolly shouldn't be allowed around food until it's made and served up. Seem like sweet folks, and bless their hearts, but lord have mercy,...
