This was our first time to eat here and I have to say it was outstanding. They have only been open for 3 months, and this is the 3rd in the Louisville area but, they are now my choice for my favorite Mexican food stop. We walked in and were immediately greeted with a friendly smile by the hostess. We asked for a booth and she sat us in a very comfortable one on the side. Right behind her was a server to get our drink orders and give us an order of chips and salsa. They also serve a ranch dip which we did not care for. It just did not seem to go with the chips. We like our salsa with a little kick so we had to ask our server for some "hot stuff" which he brought right away. We mixed it with the regular and it was just right for us. They have an excellent lunch menu with a lot of selections at very reasonable prices. And it's "Happy Hour" all day. I ordered the Shrimp Fajitas. Had 10 tender shrimp and was very good. My wife got the Chicken Fajitas, also very good. The servings are very generous and unusually large compared to other Mexican restaurants where we've eaten. They have deserts that sound delicious like Fried ice Cream but, we were just too full. We even had to get To-Go boxes. Our server asked if we wanted to also take the remaining chips and handed us a small white paper bag to put them in. A really nice touch. He also gave us a plastic bag to carry out the go boxes. The service was exceptional. There is also a patio with table service outside for when the weather is comfortable. If you like Mexican food you will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMi Tierra - āMy Homelandā in Spanish. The slightly Americanized Mexican food here is really very good. The menu is extensive. I love chorizo and they have very good chorizo here - and it is served in many ways. They also have very good chicken. Better known as pollo at Mi Tierra. It too is served in many ways. My personal favorite - pollo con chorizo. If you are complaining about the Margaritaās - for the best you must travel to Mexico. But the Margaritaās that appear here almost as soon as you order them are good enough and they have more tequila than some of their friendly competitors in the area. ( I can tell when I stand up to walk to the car. I also seem to become friendlier to my fellow diners after a Jumbo. ) Iām sure they are capable of making an authentic Margarita here - but not for $3.25. They certainly have the ingredients on hand. The service is always very good here and the staff very friendly and accomodating. I have never wanted for anything at Mi Tierra. Every few minutes someone comes by to check on you. I have seen both truckers and firemen eating here. Always a good sign. Itās busy at peak mealtimes but they will do their best to take care of you. For a more relaxed experience, they serve continuously from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM so try them during the less busy hours. ( 10:30 PM on Friday & Saturday and 9:00 PM Sunday. ) Muchas gracias for being in Buckner for us mis amigos. Thank you for sharing your culture and your food with us. You are muy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreš Perfect service, very friendly staff, and manager present checking on customers. Food and atmosphere was a level above El Nopal. Inside of the restaurant looked clean and had nice decor with branded booths.
šøJalepeno Cucumber Margarita was the highlight of my meal. I was scared to try it, but wow. The flavor is very smooth somehow, and has pieces of jalapeƱos in the drink. Loved how the margarita flavor was beneath the cucumber and jalpeno. Didn't get pictures because I didn't plan to review a little Mexican restaurant. Better than good experience, drinks, and food, so 5 stars it is.
š„© Carne Asade was on point. The Steak, onions, and peppers were cooked well and the flavor of the dish was proper. Loved the large bell onions and the bed of sliced onions under the steak.
šÆ Chimchanga isn't fried, more like a burrito with just meat and queso on top. Same thing happened at another place recently. Thought chimis are deep fried burritos... Still good. Loved the shredded beef - it was juicy and had nice consistency and flavor.
ā³ļø Food came out in record time. I joked that it was a lifetime record for me. We didn't even finish half of the chips, and food came out. Complimentary chips, salsa, and...
