Finally had the opportunity to try this place.12:40pm. Not very busy when we arrived. More people came and we patiently waited. 2 drinks later and those that came in 30+ min after us were being served. Asked another server what was going on only to be told our ticket had been lost and the waitress was in the back crying…. Still tried to be patient and wait.said it would be 12 minutes for the chic wings. We said ok. Part of our order arrived. Cold onion straws and the burger with blue cheese and tater tots came out as burger with cheddar and jalapeños and fries. Not really close. Said something to the person who we later found was bartender but very helpful. She took the burger and it was replaced promptly with correct burger. My husband had been eating fries off other plate not sure who got those. Told them onion straws were cold and tater tot’s were cold. They brought more onion straws(not tater tot’s) and asked if we needed anything else. Said we were still waiting on chic wings. Waitress was very surprised that we still wanted them. (That was my lunch!)The wings finally came out. They stopped Serving at 3:00 because next cook shift didn’t show. We finished eating at almost 3pm! The wings and 2 wines were removed. Talked to the manager the next day and she said the owner was aware of what happened and apologized. Said cooks didnt show up and understaffed. Which was excuses. Cooks were there and working when we arrived. 2nd shift didn’t show. Plenty of servers. She said they could check cameras and I asked for what? Service was bad, food was cold, wait was inexcusable and owner made up excuses to justify not picking up the entire check! Will not return nor will I recommend. Could have picked up check. Bad Bad Bad.
Response Again we got there at 12:30. Not storming(that started about 2)and cooks working. We did not treat the 19 year old that served us badly. But nice try. We were told she was in the back crying because she lost the order. I called the next day because I wanted the owner to know. No manager on duty to tell. I felt as a first time guest the whole check should have been picked up. But, You continue to make excuses. The restaurant closed at 3:30 because your cooks didn’t show. They were there at 12:30 and they were putting out lots of orders but our order was lost for 2 hours!!!! There are no excuses. We wouldn’t have treated your sweet server bad but the truth was she lost the order, brought the wrong order 2 hours later and the food was cold. With knowing all that, your apology lacks honesty. Could have been avoided by picking up the check. We would have...
Read moreWe waited till a weekday after noon to try this new establishment. Cindy’s on the barge was here for years. The burger barn in Cadiz was the original and the owners are banking on bringing in more customers than Cindy’s did. It’s not enough to rely on the fisherman and boaters to keep them afloat and The Burger Barn owners are doing a great job advertising to the general public that a Bar and grill in this out of the way place deserves the local population to take that extra drive to the lake and try delicious foods. Of course with a place called Burger Barn my wife and I both chose the 1/2 pound burger with different condiments. The buns are lightly toasted and fresh, I added two slices of bacon and American cheese. The burger was a thick 1/2 lb and juicy. Tomato and lettuce was fresh. The enormous helpings of fry’s were slightly over cooked. We each added a side of the thin onion rings and were both amazed at how thin but crisp the rings are. Our son chose the chicken nuggets and fry’s and highly recommends them as he wants to go eat there every day. The service was top notch. Very friendly servers that are really invested into making each customer feel welcome and comfortable. The steps from the parking lot might detour some from trekking down the hill to the floating barge but I assure you that it’s well worth it. Handicap access is around the ramp at the end of the parking lot. Easily winding down to the assessable bridge into the restaurant. All in all it’s very nice having a go to place that specializes in thick juicy burgers. I wish your...
Read moreBeautiful setting on kenlake/ Tennessee River adjacent to a marina. It's first and foremost a fast food burger joint. Adjust your expectations. It in the name- BURGER BARN. Wife and I were on a road trip to npwhere- just to get out of the house from Memphis. We got hungry and googled RESTAURANTS NEAR ME We randomly chose this place. One of the nearest locations to us- just dumb luck Prices were surprisingly comparable to fast food burger chains- but IMHO the menu selection was MUCH better! And we actually had a friendly waitress serving us and bringing us our food, drinks and refills. If only ALL burger joints could be this good! I had a chef salad. It was BIG and properly done. Wife had a chicken sandwich IIRC .Neighboring customers had amazing looking burgers... all this with a beautiful lake view also! If there was ANY big chain burger joint located next to this place- I'd still choose Burger Barn every time. If I ever make it out.that way again- I'll try one of their burgers for sure. Loved the entire experience- food- atmosphere- service. Best burger joint I've ever been to. I'm 60. An Army Veteran who's been to.Europe and been ro at least 6 countries there. I've been a career truck driver- been to all the lower 48 states- at least 2 million miles behind me- probably closer to 3 million miles- ate a F!ton of burgers at all kinds of hole In the wall independent restaurants in my life-this place is easily in my top 5 best burger joint experiences.
