Let's just start by saying I love good food! So, when a friend told me about this place, I knew I needed to check it out! Of course, I like many, think that I am an awesome home chef, even if only in my own mind. This tends to make me search for and demand the best quality and taste in my dining experience. Many would ask, If you're a good cook, why go out? Why spend the money? My answer is simple. Because you want to be pampered, fed well, enjoy the moment and have no cleanup. Sometimes with friends but often just by yourself to get away. I have never written such a lengthy amd detailed review on any business as I have this one. But, one must give credit where credit is due. I found it to be a classy yet simplistic restaurant where the employees treat you like an old friend. Which in my opinion, was a welcomed distraction from the hustle bustle of daily life. It is nestled inside their downtown area which is full of old world charm. And the incoming streets are lined with gorgeous historical homes. The atmosphere and service was wonderful! My ribeye was amazing! Oh, and the dessert was scrumptious! After asking about their food, I learned that they make almost everything from scratch! I'm sure this is why my Cesar dressing and Bourbon bread pudding were so delightful! The bonus was although they have a bar, it was completely smoke free! The next time you can't decide "where to go" drive on over to Kingfisher. I promise you won't be...
Read moreHonestly between the pictures and the experience this kinda felt like the classic dating profile bait and switch. We walked in and had to wait for a solid minute or so before being seated at a booth with very cracked and worn leather seats. We went ahead and seated ourselves at the next one that was in better condition since there was only one other family there (no one else came in that I saw while we were there). Food was a solid 3/5, not terrible but not great, and the drinks were definitely sub par. One was made incorrectly (according to the menu) and after the wait staff confirmed it in fact could be remade (what?), the ratios were definitely off and it was too bitter. Maybe a new bartender? We can give her the benefit of the doubt. All in all, 2 meals and 2 drinks plus tip was $60, and it just honestly wasn’t worth that. The place also stank of dirty mop water. There’s a burger shop next door that we’ll probably try instead if we come through kingfisher again.
Hate to leave this kind of review, but in the midst of all the glowing ones a bit of realism...
Read moreI honestly can't give a review because we were never seated. My daughter and I went here for our first time on a Saturday evening to have a birthday dinner to celebrate her birthday. She chose where she wanted to go but once we entered and stood at the front waiting to be seated watching a male in a red shirt look at us and then go in the back never to come back out and a young woman come out and go directly to the bar after looking at us but neither acknowledging us. My daughter decided she would rather eat somewhere else. So, unfortunately, we never got the opportunity to try anything here. We could understand if this establishment was packed or busy, but there were literally 10 people in there, and 2 employees looked right at us and then ignored us. So that's why it received the low star rating. I don't like giving bad reviews, but I'm just being honest. Hopefully, management will see this and addresses it with their staff so that it doesn't happen to...
