Don’t Bite The Bone BBQ — Restaurant in Kingsburg

OMG! What a find! Often...well ok always when I'm traveling I seek out new restaurants, particularly BBQ and Pizza. In this case it was BBQ and boy was I happy for that decision. We were staying in Visalia for a job and I found Don't Bite The Bone via a google search. The ratings and pictures helped make the decision. We traveled North on the 99 for a bit and I began to wonder did we make the right decision. We did. Upon arrival it looks very much like a truck stop, which can be a good thing. Near the entry that familiar awesome fragrance told me we were at a proper BBQ destination. The dining area, sparce but clean and proper. I chose the Pulled Pork which is my go to for every BBQ place I visit. The sandwich comes with a side and I always choose the Cole Slaw if available. I was not disappointed as the portion was quite generous and I loved the Cole Slaw. I added some of their spicy proprietary BBQ sauce and every bite was delicious. My co worker ordered the Brisket and I have to say that when I go back...and go back I will...I'm definitely going to try the Brisket! Super legit Texas BBQ restaurant! This is for sure one of the top BBQ places in Calefornia and so far the best BBQ I’ve had in Cali - no doubt! Decided to try this place since all of the reviews were so good and I hate to say it, but I was very disappointed. I work near here and coworkers are always raving about this place and yelp and google reviews are so good, but I honestly dont get what all the hype is about. I got a 2 meat plate with chicken, tri tip, potato salad, and mac and cheese. My tri tip was too done for my liking and wasn't tender like everyone raved. My chicken was juicy, but it just tasted like pepper and nothing else. Potato salad was the best part of my meal. Mac didnt have much flavor. I also asked if they gave me utensils and they said yes, but when I sat down to eat my lunch it was an open utensil pack with just a napkin and a knife. Only gave 3 stars cause they were friendly.
