I dont usually post reviews but I feel the need to because I am so disappointed with the changes under new ownership. I've been a 15 year customer and my husband a life-long customer, to the point when we moved 45 minutes away we still took the ride to stock the freezer every month. I am admittedly an ice cream addict and memories was my #1 choice, so I am heartbroken to report that the new owners have completely destroyed the memories brand of ice cream. Our goto flavors were cotton candy and peanut butter cup. The old cotton candy was so creamy and tasted like literal heaven. It is now honestly so disgusting, cheap tasting and has pop rocks in it, along with some pink swirl that tastes like straight chemicals, almost like they failed to mix it all the way, I threw out the majority of the half gallon because it made me sick trying to finish a cup of it, despite me really trying to like it. The pb cup was even more disappointing though, to the point my husband threw out an entire half gallon minus a few bites. The old owners made consistently delicious, homemade tasting and creamy peanut butter ice cream and used quality mini pb cups (the ONLY place we could find with mini cups), the new ice cream is not creamy at all, and incredibly, disgustingly greasy. My husband said it tasted like eating a spoonful of lard, and of course, the new owners now use big pieces of the large pb cups which are gross. Will sadly never ever go again and I am heartbroken that the new owners decided to try and change something that was not even close to broken, ruin literal award winning ice cream, and clearly their strategy to cut costs by using the cheapest products out there, by the taste of it, impacted the quality. This is NOT the memories us locals know and love and I can't believe they can even use the memories brand with this garbage ice cream. I did try emailing the owners with my feedback before posting a public review but did not get a response. Thoroughly disappointed and I know the old owners...
Read moreMy husband and I frequent memories regularly when we are out on his motorcycle. Today we decided to stop in for the 2nd time this summer. I agree the ice cream is not as creamy as usual. And my husband's pistachio last month had very few pistachios. BUT that's not the reason for this review. The owner needs to educate whoever has been put in charge of mowing the area How and w When to do it properly. My husband and I were sitting at the picnic tables under the trees across from the barn at 11:30. There were several cars parked in the parking lot and a few families with children and elders...a person came out of the barn on a ride on mower driving it gung ho. Mowing the dirt and gravel up into the air. He proceeded to go into the small strip of grass near the barn/port o pottie. NOTE the grass was very short and did not need cutting. We thought well he's not going to come over here while we are sitting eating ice cream. But yes he did.. he zoomed across the dirt and gravel lot, up onto the side lawn next to the tables and chairs and shot stones and debris at us. My husband waved at him and told him to move because we were getting stoned and dust but he just became more determined to blow stuff around. Well sorry but this is a huge no no. He could have put an eye out. He could have precipitated an asthma attack. He could have chipped a customers car window or paint. We got up and went to the porch to notify the manager. We moved way over to finish our ice cream but he wasn't finished. No he decided to cut in front of the porch and stairs blowing up dust on 4 elderly customers and flooding the air near the order pick up windows. This is totally unacceptable. Maintenance should be done pre or post hours.. the owner needs to rectify this...
Read moreI went to pick up a pre-packed, 1/2 gallon of ice cream for my son's B-Day. They didn't his first choice of flavors in stock in the 1/2 gallon size, but, I was told, they had plenty of it in the quart size. So I said, "fine, I'll take the two quarts." They then proceeded to charge me $15 (the price of two, individual quarts). I asked, "what's this all about? A 1/2 gallon is $8.75." The girl told me that I was being charged for 2 quarts. I asked, "you do know that 2 quarts = 1/2 gallon, right? Why are you charging me an extra $6+ for the same amount of ice cream?" She repeated that it was because there were 2 quarts, not a 1/2 gallon. Not wanting to create a scene, nor hassle the polite, high school student who was only doing her job, I asked if there was a supervisor available. The supe came over and repeated the crazy logic. "We don't have the 1/2 gallon in stock, just the quarts. If you want a 1/2 gallon of the ice cream then you need to buy it in 2 quart packages and pay the extra $6.25." I started to ask why I'm being penalized (it's not like the price difference was just a buck or two, $6.25 was a significant difference, especially for the same amount of ice cream), for the fact that they didn't have the 1/2 gallon in stock. I even offered to pay an extra $.50 to cover the cost of the paper container (which probably only cost them $.15), but then, I just stopped, graciously took my money back, and left. Note to Owners: Your policy in this regard comes off as nothing more than sheer greed and REALLY poor PR. You now have a frustrated customer who went public with their experience. Was...
