Hello everyone, I hope this message finds you well. Today, at approximately 12:42 p.m, I placed two orders at Downtown Cafe. It is worth noting that my guest and I were the only individuals of color present in the establishment. Regrettably, I had to wait for more than 40 minutes for my orders to be prepared. To my surprise, neither of the orders were ready. It would have been appreciated if the staff had informed me about the delay. Unfortunately, there were no waitresses available to provide updates on the waiting time. The waitress named Gena displayed impolite behavior, and the manager, Mrs. Pam, was equally unwelcoming. When I initially requested yellow lemonade, Gena informed me that it was unavailable, so I opted for sweet tea instead. However, I noticed several waitresses serving yellow lemonade to other customers. I had to specifically request yellow lemonade again and was eventually provided with one, accompanied by a rude attitude. Upon requesting a refund at the register (due to the unacceptable 40-minute wait for pre-made food), Mrs. Pam was discourteous and failed to offer any apologies for the inconvenience caused. Despite the subpar service, I decided to pay for the drink out of courtesy. It is important to highlight that Mrs. Pam insisted that I pay for the drinks because they were "specially made for me." What exactly does that imply? I want to emphasize that I did not consume any of the beverages. To add insult to injury, following today's experience, I am convinced that this establishment is discriminatory and unwelcoming towards individuals of color. I strongly advise against people of color supporting or patronizing this establishment. While I would not rate this restaurant with a single star, I felt compelled to leave a one-star review at the very least. It is disheartening to acknowledge that racism continues to be a prevalent issue even in my own community. Therefore, I extend my gratitude to Ms. Gena and Ms. Pam for losing a...

Read moreAfter reading reviews, I was looking forward to having lunch there. My waitress gave good service. It took a while to get my food. The tea, roll, & cole slaw were good. But the sweet potato fries had no flavor. The fried flounder was compressed meat with not so good breading and it was hard. I felt like $18 was thrown down the drain. I give it one star for...
