My husband took me here for dinner when I went to visit him at Camp Dawson it's not your typical steakhouse. It's attached to a hotel. It's very well lit inside which was a bit too bright in my personal opinion compared to other "steakhouses". It also was pretty full with a bunch of golfers so it seems like it's a pretty good place. Looking at the menu, I felt the steak prices were outrageous but the portion size could probably feed like 3-5 people. We decided not to order steak due to the high dollar amount and the excess portion sizes and opted in for a few appetizers. We got the mozzarella wedges which were pretty good but the breading didn't have much flavor like I'd hoped but it was still good. We also got the BBQ nachos which sounded super delicious however I wasn't a fan. The pork was good but the queso cheese was gross and had a goopy thick texture and just didn't taste like queso. Lastly we got a cheese pizza. My husband had bragged about the pizza so I was excited however it really wasn't special and a frozen pizza from Walmart tasted better than what we got that night. My husband agreed that it wasn't like it usually is. I'm not usually one to gripe or complain about food but this food just killed my appetite and nauseated me. Also the service was slow even after the party of golfers left shortly after we arrived, we had to wait forever and barely saw our waitress during our visit. My husband had to find her so we could pay and leave. I probably won't eat there again and maybe it was just an off night for them as it seems it's liked...
Read moreCame for my birthday dinner. Got seated in the far corner next to the restroom far away from everyone else I guess because we had kids? Plenty of other available tables. Reading previous reviews it’s very clear families with kids aren’t welcome. They get asked to leave or get seated as far away as possible like us. It’s really bizarre and ackward to have a table set up that way in a corner next to the restroom on its own where we’re just facing the front desk looking at grumpy waitresses.
This could be a five star business if you got rid of the ackward table, made it clear that no kids are allowed which is perfectly legal and would’ve been preferred over being treated like second class citizens, and just give everyone a training on customer service (greet the customer with a smile, say welcome to the hitching post, and pretend like you want to be there or just find people that can do this in general even if you have to pay a little more and cut back the employees that aren’t willing to come to work with a good attitude)
This is really basic small business stuff that can be easily fixed. So just fix it! It’s a one hour customer service meeting. Anyone that doesn’t want to smile on the job needs to go. Pay just a little bit more to get a better employee with a better attitude and make the employees compete a little more. The best ones get the hours and the pay bumps and The ones that aren’t performing need to be cut back. I’m sure you all are doing ok but your results and sales will improve with a few basic adjustments (assuming...
Read moreFood was great as always (we've eaten here numerous times since their opening), but the last several visits to this establishment we had poor service. The waitresses never smiled & basically made us feel very unwelcome (most times it was just my husband & I out for a date). Our trip just last Friday the waitress didn't write anything down & completely forgot our appetizer. She never came back to see if we would like more drinks, and told us to meet her at the register to pay our bill, but never actually gave us a bill to review until we asked to see one (to make sure we weren't charged for the appetizer). The one time we went there with our daughter & young grandson, we too were put behind the "wall of shame" and waited a half-hour for someone to even come take our drink order. Our grandson was being good & watching YouTube videos the whole time & not being disruptive in any way. We almost didn't return after that incident, but the food was so good we tried a few more times & got treated pretty much the same way. After last Friday, it is doubtful we...
