I was visiting one of my friends in the area and was looking for restaurants to eat, and he recommended Diner 54. Well as a tourist i took his advice. Overall it was a great decision. We started off with the Appetizer sampler. When it came out it was piping hot and delicious. It was standard American fare consisting of mozzarella sticks, onion rings, chicken strips, and potato skins. For the main course I ordered the chicken quesadilla it was really warm, however could have used more seasoning. I placed salt seperately on it and it was still good. The fries were really crispy as well. The strawberry crepes were good, but were very plain. It's something you can get just about anywhere, maybe if it was stuffed with something it would have stood out a little more. Overall the food as tasteful, well-prepared, it could have used a little bit more seasoning at times, however the fact that nearly everything was homemade made it taste better. As for the service of the waitresses was more than accommodating and really made you feel at home. Connie was a fantastic waitress and really went above and beyond. Overall i would rate this restaurant 4 stars

Just had a really poor experience here came in half hour before they closed it was 8:30 on a Sunday manager met me at the door said we close at 9 I said OK he repeated we close at 9 I said OK then I asked if he could seat me and he said well we're very limited on the food we can serve you I said OK what can I eat he said I'll send a waitress waitress comes over just me a menu I tell her order one of the specials came with 2 sides order to bake potato and salad waitress came back said can't give you a salad because we've already packed everything away I said OK what can I have She said vegetable of the day is green beans I said OK I'll take him food came out steak was Gray overcooked full of fat very small side of green beans baked potato had the slightest amount of butter and a small side of sour cream asked for more sour cream food was bland but the real problem was the whole time the manager was complaining to the other waitresses about my presence and he kept saying well what do you expect what do you expect in broken English very disappointed pass this on the way home from work every day needless to say I won't be stopping here again.

It was decent. The meals were delicious, the appetizer platter was a mixed review. The guy seating us didn't say a word to us and just ran ahead. We were confused if we were supposed to follow, but he was just standing next to a seat waiting for us. Would have been nice to have some instructions. On the appetizers, the onion rings were by far the best thing. The potato skins had a ton of bacon, but they weren't very warm, the cheese was a bit crusty. The cheese sticks weren't gooey at all. The chicken tenders were very dry and could have used some sauce, but we only got marinara and sour cream. For meals, I ordered the Philly steak sandwich. It wasn't shredded beef like normal, but it was actual steak cut into strips. Very good and fresh. Lots of onions on it. My partner got the all you can eat catfish but they didn't even finish the first plate so we didn't test that out. It was also very good though and came with two sides.

Most recent visit was on September 10 @4:15 p.m, to say the least it was very unpleasant. We were taken to one area of the restaurant, we asked to be seated elsewhere. The young blonde waitress/hostess said "ok, your waitress will be with you when she has time" and tossed the menus to us. Twenty minutes later, two waitresses just walked by and then looked at us. When the waitress finally showed up (just to get a drink order) she wasn't friendly at all. This has been the second time dealing with her, once on another occasion. Once she arrived to take our order, it wasn't available (yes, this happens), but her attitude was the final straw. We've been there several times in the past and had great service and food. I don't know what has changed, but the staff, especially this waitress, needs to learn to be more courteous. I know this place is looking for help, but if they are this desperate to hire this kind of employee....then this place will no longer be the popular diner in town to go to. Customer service goes a long way and can either make...
