This review is a tough one! I don't like to take an establishment to task regarding a situation, but in this case, due to absolutely "NO" response from the establishment, I have no choice. Date of Visit: 09/17/2023 Time of Visit: 12:40 P.M. Order # : 8 Transaction #: 501206 Actually met the Owners on their way out of the restaurant as we were entering. Food Ordered: Appetizer: Deviled Eggs (Shared) My Order: Mussel's and a Side of Pasta. Order in Question: Wife - Seafood Skillet Duo: Clams and Crab Legs with French Onion Soup. Beverages: Water and Unsweetened Tea. All of the items were top notch as we have experienced in the past. Problem: 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. my wife began to feel ill. She remained up and about until 9:00 P.M. she went to bed. Approximately 11:00 P.M. she ran to the bathroom and was extremely sick. Projectile Sick! She returned to bed, Nausea gone but the usual residual remained. Why we feel her illness was the result of the food consumed at the Mariner: Previously that day she had only ingested (1) Egg Bagel and (2) Cookies. (At Home). We feel it was bad clams. We shared the Eggs and my meal had no after effects. Within her serving of clams we noticed that over a dozen of them had not opened during cooking. (Unusually large number for (1) serving.) Where the Owners of the Mariner went wrong was their lack of caring. An E-Mail was sent explaining that we were not looking for anything in return, we wanted them to be aware that something had gone wrong so that they could review their inventory or take a look at the preparation to keep this from occurring again. We weren't angry, we own our own business and when things aren't correct, we want to know about it. The E-Mail was to be informative and to give them a heads-up to the situation.

It is now 10/13/2023, 27 Days after sending the alert. Not a single response from the Owners, Establishment or even the Dishwasher.

So "BE AWARE", if you incur a situation from the Mariner Restaurant, do not expect them to CARE or even acknowledge that you as a patron have taken time to alert them in a caring and professional way. I guess they "Just do not want to know". So, in return, we will not take our time to drive there from West Deer Township and we have alerted others that have visited the Mariner in the Past. It did not need to...

The taste of the food was excellent. However, both the prime rib and the burger were overcooked. The chicken was close to being overcooked (the middle was ok but the sides and ends were overdone). I said as soon as the waitress set the prime rib down (and before I even touched it) that it was overcooked hoping to have her save it and not waste it but she said to cut into it. After showing her it was overcooked she took it back and the second one she brought out was slightly better but no where near medium rare. Probably medium well. I wasn't waiting again so I said it was going to be fine. But, it tasted amazing so it made up for it partly. The risotto cake was also delicious. The burger was to be medium well but it was well well. Yes, over well. I do think $8 for a piece of plain chicken and barely half a soup cup of applesauce was outrageous but they "accidently" gave brussle sprouts also (I think because they also were embarrassed of the lonely looking piece of chicken for $8 on a plate by itself and my daughter actually ate them so they must have been good also) else I would have been more upset at the sad serving of that dish. The kids Mac and cheese was ok. The waitress was nice but needed reminded of sides of items (like the French fries for the kids meal and ranch for the chicken) and like I said I tried to tell her to save the steak before she gave it to me. The food tasted great but it was disappointing it was...

As a past manager of restaurants I try to not judge as harsh on places especially knowing how hard it is to find good help nowadays, but I had to review this place because it was my first and last visit there. We had reservations and were sat quickly the server took some time to finally arrive at the table. When she did we ordered our drinks. Not long after she dropped off a beer and soda but had completely forgot the water, no biggie. She then took our order and disappeared for a long time without ever checking in and drinks were not refilled for quite some time. Finally, when she arrived back at our table with our entrees I had to tell her she never brought our soups. She then made an excuse that the soups were taken by someone and they were remaking them. So our soup came out after our entrees. After some time we finally were given the bill. We were charged for a refill on the soda which we were never made aware of nor does it say on the menu there are no free refills. Also don't trust the menu prices the beer was .50 extra as well as both sodas were .50 extra. Now I will say the food was good but the service as well as the incorrect prices on the menu need...

First time here, and we were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant sits directly along the river, and there's not a bad view from anywhere inside or out of the restaurant. Outside seating is on a first come basis. They do accept reservations for inside dining. Very clean, and the decor was nice. We were a party of 5, and all decided to get different items to try. For appetizers, we had the fried provolone wheels, beer battered deviled eggs, pierogies, and garlic brussels & mushrooms. Fried deviled eggs may sound odd, but they were surprisingly delicious! We enjoyed all of the apps we tried. For our entrees, we had the bruschetta board (I chose the Mediterranean, brie, and mushroom), fried fish sandwich, fried chicken sandwich, mariner burger & special of the day which was stuffed flounder. Not one complaint regarding any of the entrees. All of our food came out correct, and everything was great. Fries are fresh cut. Our waitress was very pleasant, and the service was prompt. We will definitely be coming back to this restaurant.

Great food! Especially the steak. Medium rare cooked perfectly (... Maybe a touch too much salt...) but was delicious! There was something for everyone on the menu. The view was nice. Stare at the water and it tricks you into thinking YOU were moving! Fancy drinks too! White cloth napkin kinda place tucked in a quiet neighborhood. A tad expensive but you get what you pay for. The servers were nice and friendly. The cooks even came out to ask how we liked everything.

A place to grab a nice dinner on the water! There's a bar outside that tends to be a little more rowdy, nothing extreme. Then there is a dining room with water view and another bar inside. Their mushroom bruschetta board is the #1 thing on their menu in my opinion! (Not pictured) Also I am a big fan of their shrimp and chorizo pasta! The staff is always very friendly, & kidfriendly!
