Was very pleased with the pizza. It came out nice and hot the crust was just crispy enough to my liking but not overdone. While the pizza was still a little too hot for me to take a healthy bite I got a taste of the sausage. It was obvious to me that the sausage was good quality ,bursting with flavor. We got the five topping special which for a 14-in was 18 dollars I believe we got pepperoni sausage black olives mushrooms and onions. I would have added green bell pepper if I would have thought about it a little bit longer. The toppings were evenly spread over the pizza which I like the right amount of cheese and the sauce was just hanging up but not over tangy. Hand tossed crust New York Pizza at its best. We left another Pizza established when I wanted to try because all they were doing is carry out the wife and I don't give many days together so we wanted to sit down and eat they're dining room is a little dated and wasn't very clean I think he's very short-staffed but not terribly dirty either. Basically what you have is carry out pizza that they allow you to eat there at least that's the attitude that I got. I read a lot of the reviews talking about the owner being rude well I did not think he was rude he wasn't just bubbling with personality real touchy-feely but I didn't come there to make a friend I come there to get a good pizza. He was friendly enough to take my order and to point out their various combinations. The wife and I love big edd's Pizza. But this place is a lot more convenient to our home than driving to oak ridge. The only reason I'm not giving it a five-star is because there was no beer no big deal to most people but to me you need a good cold draft beer to enjoy Pizza I do believe big Edds probably has a little bit better taste in the crust they actually have some herbs and garlic powder mixed in with their crust which probably makes it a little bit better but the better trade-off here is you don't have the weight and big heads hours have gotten a little inconvenient these days so we were looking for another pizza place but I would have to give this pizza a good A. We will...
Read moreFinally got to try this place because people told me it was good. My wife and I ate there last night and here is my thoughts. It's a busy place but not exactly welcoming. We were not greeted but we're acknowledged and there is a difference. I am italian and in my family you are always greeted warmly but there was none of that just business . The food is one thing but everything else matters too. We ordered just a plain "large" cheese pizza and 2 cokes and we were given a number and we grabbed a table and sat and waited. I have seen others describe this as a quaint little place etc...I would say it's just above ok and doesn't look like they care about the decor. Our number was called and I went up to get the pizza and there were people standing at the pick up counter so I had to wait. I'm handed the pizza with two paper plates on either side of the metal pan the pizza is on so I don't burn my fingers....these plates are also the ones you use to eat off of . Now the pie....it looked good but where I grew up "Pennsylvania " this is not a large pizza it would be a small or medium possibly. The cook on the pizza was very good though and smelled good also. One thing I did like is that on the tables you had garlic powder, oregano, salt, pepper and hot pepper flakes! I always put garlic powder on my pizza. The pizza tasted fresh and so did the sauce there was a great ratio of cheese and sauce.I read that someone commented that it was bland and I agree that without the garlic powder it was on the blander side but the table condiments helped that. If I was giving a score like One bite it would be a 7.1 ! Still the best pizza I have found here in the knoxville area is Puleo's . Go read my review and they know what a...
Read moreI REALLY wanted to give this 5 stars!!! I have been eating this pizza for 3/4 of my life, ever since the Mallrat days of East Towne Mall. Let me start off by saying that the Pizza at Elidios is not only the BEST pizza in Knoxville and East Tennessee and dare I say south of the Mason Dixon line... HOWEVER my last visit was bad on a couple of levels. I had friends over and we were craving Calzones, so I suggested Elidios. We ordered two Calzones and a Stromboli. I called in the order and specified that it was three separate orders. We went by the prices on the website, so my friends gave me their money. Upon arriving, I was given one box. I opened the box and all three were crammed into one box (see pictures below) and the prices were different from the website prices. The Calzones I received were much smaller than the ones I saw coming out of the oven and since the ones coming out of the oven looked WAY better than the ones I had, I asked what they were. She told me they were what I got. They weren't. They were much bigger and looked WAY better. When I got the total it was about $5 different than the total we calculated from the website. I then looked at the in-store menu prices and they were not the same. The difference obviously came out of my pocket. REGARDLESS, I am still giving 4 out of 5. If management reads this may I suggest that you update prices on the website and NEVER put three separate orders in one box. I probably will stick with their pizza from now on, because it is the best...
