After ordering for a few years now & dealing with the CONSTANT mess ups, this past order will be my last! When I order, it's not as if I order small orders, I order pretty substantial sizes! I'd also like to think, with COVID, my Family and I, when choosing THEM, because of locality (wanting to keep money in Mom & Pop shops rather than corporate bc hey, there IS Domino's & Door Dash can get the others) helped have a part in keeping them in business. There were times I was ordering them back to back!
I am a picky orderer as to say, but when you have someone who has sensitivity to certain tastes and textures and you CONSTANTLY have to tell the people WHY you don't want something on there- the frustration shouldn't be taken out on the customer who gave specific orders in the first place when making the order. When the order comes here WRONG & the order WON'T BE EATEN or even touched for that matter- to be yelled at or given attitude by workers- EVERY TIME gets old! Yes, there have been a few times, where the owner has been there and corrected the problem & we have been grateful- which kept us coming back!
Today, after I ordered things- Specifically a Buffalo Chicken Cheese steak for my sister with grilled chicken, NO ONIONS & ranch (low & behold- onions are on it & I'm sorry, I too HATE ONIONS & THEY MESS UP ALL THE TIME- EVEN when you take them off, you can STILL TASTE THAT RANK TASTE &&& IT RUINS YOUR MEAL YOU PAID FOR & ASKED FOR IT NOT TO BE ON!!!!!)... A meatball hoagie with mozzarella cheese & sauce (that was correct)... A DRY Meatball hoagie ONLY THE ROLL & ONLY DRY MEATBALLS- WHICH THEY'VE DONE BEFORE ( NOPE, comes slathered in sauce and is uneaten)... And an Antipasto Salad which I ask EVERY TIME I order ANYWHERE HERE, HOW THEY MAKE IT! I take out some & add in things (you'd think it'd be on the menu- NOPE!) When the man told me, I said NO Peppers, no onions, add tuna and add eggs. They ALWAYS FORGET MY TUNA (last order, charged me $6 to run it down bc the person "forgot" to write it in, where's that MY problem?) THIS time, I get the NASTIEST response EVER when I said there were olives on it & NO Tuna- the guy didn't even tell me olives, I'd have had them right off- EWH!... He started yelling he wasn't sending a new salad, he'd send a tuna (which never came BTW) that this was an all the time thing. Well, IF your workers took the orders correctly the FIRST time, there wouldn't be a problem. I get the frustration, bc I'm hungry when I order & ready to eat & can't bc it's messed up! So out of TODAYS $45 I spent- ONE ITEM was correct and I get belittled! I'll just stick with OIP...
Read moreReally good cold hoagies. I usually get an Italian and eat half for dinner and half for lunch at work the next day. My son loves the bacon cheeseburger hoagie but I think the burger patties are kind of mushy and do not taste like all beef.
All in all the food is decent .But I just don't understand a few things. Like putting sweet peppers as a standard topping in like everything. Really most people don't like sweet peppers they don't match well with a stromboli or cheese steak. And also the sweet sauce I just don't like at all. I think this place would make a killing if it weren't for that sauce because I really don't even know anyone who says they like sweet sauce. I always get the regular sauce and that is still overly sweet.
But it's all good. I just try and order whatever I can without sauce on it. Some love it. I don't think they're anywhere near the majority though. Food would be killer with just a lightly seasoned crushed tomato sauce. You don't need all this seasoning on a pizza sauce. I want to taste the cheese and crust and toppings but they get smothered by the candy like flavor...
Read moreVery sad that it has as come to this. My family and I have been going to Scicchitano's for years. Never going back after our experience with last night's staff. They forgot to pass our pickup order to the cooking staff. When we showed up, the cashier blamed the owner who took our call and acted like it was not their fault. Their solution was to give us another order that had a similar name on the slip. After getting home with the pizza we found out that we didn't receive any toppings on the pizza. My Dad returned to get the difference in cost and was told that he was wrong. The gentleman behind the counter said that the picture evidence could have been any pizza as if my 63 year old father keeps pictures of pizza stored on his phone "just in case". He was then told never to come back after the cashier reluctantly gave him the $4 difference. Don't worry, we won't be returning. Very disappointing...I gave it more than one star just because of all the years we'd grab a pie when visiting...
