I have a family of 5 and we eat at this restaurant at least 1-2 times a week. This is typically the first place that I bring out of town family to eat. However, our order is often messed up. The food is good though, which why we keep going back. Until today. Today, our server brought us the wrong food. We ordered the choriqueso and she brought regular quest. She had a huge tabletop though so we didnât make a big deal about it and just ate what she brought. About 10 minutes later she brought the right queso dip, dropped it off at the table and just walked away. Never came back until the bill. Fast forward to the bill. I noticed that were charged for both cheese dips and an extra taco. I ask the âmanagerâ, who literally looks and acts like a 12 year old, to please remove the extra taco and the dip that we didnât order. He proceeds to berate me in front of a full restaurant and said heâs going to check to see if we ate both because they shouldnât have to be out of money. SoâŠif I didnât eat it, would they just put it back? Because thatâs disgusting. After he refused to remove these items and telling him we are regulars at his business he, no joke, said that he didnât care, he had enough business and wouldnât lose money. Never again will I support this business just based on principle. Terrible...
Read moreWe like El Publitos better, but El Charro is closer to home. If you ask for a lemon with your water, you will be told they donât have them. If you ask for a lime instead, you will be refused one. Our Hispanic waitress told me I couldnât have a lime because they were âonly for margaritas and the beerâ She didnât bother to mention that I could have one if I wanted to pay and up charge, just flat out refused to give me a lime. I asked to speak to a manager and he said the owner now charges for limes if youâre not ordering alcoholic beverages. I told him that was fine that I would pay the up charge. The waitress took it personally that the manager told her to bring me the lime and she had a bad attitude with everyone at the table afterwards. She brought out 2 razor- thin lime slivers and plopped them down in front of me. I was charged 50 cents for the minuscule pieces. Very disappointing service and makes me wonder why the owner would even implement such a silly rule. I guess times are getting hard for El Charro or perhaps limes are now suddenly hard to come by? Thatâs funny- I can buy an entire lime at Walmart for...
Read moreFantastic food! The proportions of all the ingredients in their dishes are perfect so that the flavors of each ingredient is able to come through without overpowering the others. This is a quality that is almost never able to be found in restaurants today. Most restaurants are unable to capture a true winning mix of quantity and quality with regard to their dishes because they use premade and prepackaged with a few fresh ingredients thrown in when its expedited/plated to make it all "look" fresh. This leaves the customer with a bland and generally unsatisfying meal that is the same as the other guys restaurant down the street. Not El Charro, ingredients are fresh, dishes prepared perfectly and delicious every time. A true standout!
Thank you El Charro for another...
