Rustic Roots Pizza & Cafe — Restaurant in La Monte

An absolute must try! Fresh made pizza that the whole family loved. Cute rustic atmosphere, very friendly staff, and food hit the spot. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and we ordered A LOT; Except for our normally picky toddler who ate his entire pizza himself! (He usually won't even eat pizza but scarfed Rustic Roots pizza).

Husband got the bbq chicken, I got everything but the kitchen sink, one daughter pinapple/pepperoni and my eldest wasn't feeling pizza but loves pasta so got lasagna! She gave the lasagna two thumbs up and loved the fresh baked loaf that came with. We also got the spinach dip! Hubby and I thought it was delicious. Needless to say our bellies are happy, full, and excited for leftovers tomorrow. Definitely coming back; we've had a hard time finding good pizza near here! We were looking for a well-reviewed pizza place in mid-Missouri that wasn't part of a national chain. Preferably a one-off with its own unique approach to pizza. Looks like we found it in La Monte!

Having driven 45 minutes to get there, we ordered two pizzas for pickup. We arrived a little early but they said we were good to go. Both were the Cowboy pizzas with the various meats. Both were fantastic, with one a little less crispy - probably because we showed up too early. Loaded with great meats and cheeses, it met with rave reviews from all that got a slice.

We also tried the garlic cheese bread. Served with a sweet marinara sauce, it was also excellent. It disappeared in no time!

So the next time you are heading to the lake on Highway 50, definitely pick up a pie (or three) to go. You...

We got spinach artichoke dips,side salads and kitchen sink pizza.The pizza we ordered reminded me of the pizza we had in Europe very fresh,good flavor with a good blend of meats and toppings. The spinach artichoke deep at first glance looked to have a lack of cheese but when you tasted it they had chosen a very flavorful cheese that was terrific we love how they did it most the dip we had is very cheesy with low flavor. The side salads had a home made cheesy crotuns that were excellent and im not a cruton person. And to add with the compliment on the salad my wife doesnt really like black olives but the ones they chose were not overpowering and or bitter. We will definitely recommend this plave to all the...
