All You Really Need To Know: Worst Dairy Queen I've ever been to in terms of both quality of service and quality of food. Definitely the worst hands down in Oregon. Eat somewhere else literally 100% of the time.
The Long Version: My fiance and I have lived in La Pine for a while now and have been going to this Dairy Queen somewhat frequently for the past couple years. Unfortunately, we have (quite literally) never had a good experience. Every single time we go there, it seems to be a completely different staff so I've got to imagine their turnover rate is insanely high. The wait times are not at all on par with a "fast food" establishment - sometimes waiting up to 25 minutes to get a couple items. We have literally never gotten the exact items we ordered (and paid for). Literally never! Some examples include: Ordering a certain Blizzard flavor and getting either a completely different flavor or just getting a half-full, poorly blended vanilla ice cream with nothing else in it instead. Ordering two of their Signature burgers (specifically the FlameThrower Burger and the Two Cheese Deluxe Burger) with meals included and instead just getting two plain cheeseburgers with no sides or drinks. Getting laughed at by the staff because we inform them our order is incorrect or that we got incorrect change back (the employees seem to be absolutely incompetant in cash management and counting change back). Not getting all of our change back and being told by the drive-thru employee that they "got distracted" and will "have to get (us) more change in a moment". Then when they finally handed us our order (which was incorrect by the way), the employee either completely forgot that they still owed us more change or just hoped we had forgotten and would drive off none the wiser. Never (NEVER) have I ever received a Blizzard from this location where they flip it upside down. They're supposed to do it with EVERY Blizzard they sell and you're supposed to get a free Blizzard if they don't.
Unfortunately, if you live in La Pine, you know there aren't many options when you don't have time or don't want to make something for dinner. Despite that, we have decided to never go back to this Dairy Queen location. We'd rather eat the twigs in our backyard. If you're just driving through town and need a quick spot for some food, stay away like the plague. We will be telling literally everybody we know how bad this Dairy Queen is.
If you don't mind waiting absurd wait times for an order that likely isn't even what you asked for, then this Dairy Queen might be for you! If you don't mind getting attitude from the employees or not getting all of your change back, then this Dairy Queen might be for you! But if you're a sensible human being who values your time, money, and your faith in humanity, you'll eat somewhere else and save yourself...
Read moreTonight Kaylene was the manager and took our order. It was a big disaster. She didn't put food items we requested on our order and misunderstood two other food items forcing us to pay for the wrong ones and to pay at the pick up window for the correct ones. When we got home which is less than one mile away we noticed our two reg. Rotisserie chicken baskets were missing food and worse of all the chicken was cold. Not Luke warm but cold as in sitting in at room tempature for God only knows how long. She did not meet health safety standards of 140° or warmer when served. I called her and let her know if our extreme dissatisfaction and asked what she can do to fix this. We received the generic response of "come back and we will replace it". This is her trained response so I asked for corporate phone number and she said with additude "I don't have that memorized off the top of my head." I then asked "You don't have a book, giving you this information?" She said "No." We said our goodbyes. For the safety of you and your loved ones health, do...
Read moreMy son had fun there. And the quality of food is usually the same (which is pretty yummy) sometimes I want more fries but I'm just a fat person lol. People there are nice too. I know-ish one employee and the other girl with so sweet to my son since she also has a baby his age.
Update: went in today got chicken strips. Couldn’t get drinks because the machine was broken. Got charged for extra sauce and gravy even though we were told they were out by the time we got to the window. And they still gave us a 1/4 full gravy. I got charged .99 cents for that gravy and .50 extra for a dressing on my receipt that doesn’t even exist. Then tried to tell me they were charging me for the ranch that came with my basket even tho that’s already rung up on the receipt and is PART OF THE MEAL. The girl was having trouble from the start and couldn’t even take the order at the drive thru. I should’ve taken the hint and went inside to order or not ordered at all. The girl was also extremely rude and tried to keep our receipt and we had to ask...
