Chantilly Room — Restaurant in La Porte

It's a damn shame I have to write a negative review about this place after coming here for years.... It's a damn shame when a disabled vet has to pay 2 dollars for a glass of water. Every other time I have come here I have shot pool and had a great time order water all night no issues and now this new bartender tells me water isn't free and that I have to wear a shirt after working all damn day this is the place I come same attire, jeans or dickies (work clothes) and a muscle shirt... won't be coming back...

Google says permanently closed. It is open now. Good for a local neighborhood bar. Quaint atmosphere. Been there a couple of times, late afternoon, to drink a beer and play pool. Someone with me asked how the Bloody Mary's were and several spoke up and said best in town. Turns out the main ingredient was A1 Steak Sauce and that is almost all you could taste. Not saying that's bad, but I had a sip and it's not for me. Otherwise...

Love this place. We make a point to go there every time we go anywhere near Galveston or Houston. I've never felt more confortable and relaxed in a bar. Food is just so good. Simple menu always served fresh and hot. Staff is wonderful. Love the jukebox and the live entertainment. Everyone just relaxes and has a good time. The atmosphere is...
