Man Kind Sports Bar — Restaurant in La Porte

I want to be fair, careful and honest when submitting this review. First and foremost the bartender was great as far as customer service was concerned. I did inquire if she had help because it did seem as if she was taking on more than one person should take on… and she did let me know that she was doing everything by herself. Soooooo, with all that being said… I am a resident of Laporte and have been a resident of Laporte for 6 1/2 years. I’ve always passed this bar and have been curious but apprehensive about about it… today i choose to overcome my fears and i entertained going in. The bartender was great / initially … I placed in an order for a beer ( which I immediately received ) then later placed in an order for 6 bone in buffalo wings ( which I never received ) …. Soooooo, 3 beers later , ( one hour later ) after not receiving my order I asked the bartender to cancel the order for the wings and to close my tab… the bartender then tells me… “ I apologize, I never placed the order in for the wings “ … ( I’m trying hard to not make this seem like it was because I was AA, being I was the only AA Patron there amongst almost 20 plus caucasian patrons… ) and I was the only person there whom had placed an order in with the kitchen… actually calling in advance, inquiring if a certain game would be airing in their establishment…. Soooooo, in what I felt was in all fairness… I took it upon myself to ask the customer beside me who had witnessed it all , should I leave a tip… his response was … ask my wife … who agreed that I should not leave a tip…, I said I respect your honesty, paid my tab and left. I had high hopes for this establishment that I’ve passed by for 6 plus years and finally got the courage to go into only to be disappointed… Laporte...

Typical sports bar... Square bar with stools around it... Largest flat screen in the main, square bar area. Approximately 15 bar height table/chair sets... each table would comfortably seat 4 adults. I believe that there were 5 smaller flat screen tvs on each side of the large main one. Not very active on a Saturday evening like most sports bars. Two barmaids that waited on everyone, but definitely no set procedure nor any type of efficiency... One for first order, then other for 2nd order, back to first one on food order... Pretty confusing and chaotic. Customers were confused AND 2 barmaids were just as confused. Forgot we gave them credit card to hold for tab, asked if we wanted to pay cash again???? Then, 2 separate times, asked what name our tab was under... Paul... Simple... Thought is was under Frank, then Leroy. Upon closing out tab and us leaving, my husband discovered they had charged our card for an additional 2 drinks @ 14. a pop!! The worst part... Said to us, well we aren't going to back it out on your card because it has already gone through... Solution was... Here are the 2 drinks so you'll just have to stay longer and drink them or walk out. Wow!!! Overall... Personal opinion... Disappointing and...

This place is OK. Nothing impressive to where I would pick it first to show my friends. My friend from out of town had a hotel room a few miles from this place, so I gave it a try so he wouldn't drive far. It is a small place and it is clean. The restroom is a single toilet, so if there is a crowd, you will have a long wait. The crowd was not big, but the wait for service and the restroom made you think they had a full house. Nothing great about the place, but nothing horrible to say about it either. It is my first visit. We left around 10:00PM, so like I said,...
