Sam & Dave's — Restaurant in La Porte

This review deserves zero stars. It stinks inside, probably because most of the patrons are continually chain smoking, it's absolutely filthy, the staff is incredibly rude, and they overcharge you. I had a single beer there while waiting to meet a friend, and when I received my tab it was $25, which they then proceeded to fight me over. I eventually just left without signing my tab, and promptly filed a dispute with my credit card company over it, which I won. From what I observed, it's a VERY local watering hole where people engage in illegal gambling at their video slot machines which totally don't pay out, wink wink, and the average clientele is a surly elderly person who sits and angrily stares at you for no apparent reason. Wasn't very happy when I turned in 3 tickets and only recieved credit for 2 freeplay spins and the 1 ticket !!! that supposedly got lost or( POCKETED I FEEL) was the one with the highest # of free spins.Yeah, I've chalked it up to the game. BUT A NERVE WAS HIT !! Nevertheless , considering this LIL BAR & GRILL (SAMS AND DAVE'S) is very clean , roomy , friendly, with that awesome hometown bar vibe ! They have an atmosphere weather you are 25 to 95 yrs old their layout can accommodate ya and Any kind of party or gathering you can think of from A to Z . My interactions with everyone were respectful , engaging & friendly ( very rare in todays world ) is less than a mile from my house. Was on Oil Rig for 7 weeks and went there to unwind quite a few times. They don't have a Kitchen so I can't rate that. The atmosphere is low key which I like, because like I said i was there to unwind. AWESOME Service!!! The Bartender Becka is "Johnny on the Spot" when needing a drink, she's always smiling, Professional & courteous. I've had experience with the other Bartenders as well and they are great also, though I don't remember their names. Great, Low Key place with good atmosphere.
