Stopped here along our cycling ride across the US. The food was excellent, and fulfilling.😁 I had the pull pork sandwich with onion rings, and my son had the double cheeseburger with fries. He also had a slice on cheese cake 🍰. The owner Tom let us pitch a tent here for the night. They're very cyclist friendly. The food alone was worth the money spent. Highly recommend stopping here to get it. Bathrooms are clean, as well as dining area.

If you want home-made and delicious, this place is a MUST! They've got specialty jams, candied pecans, a small selection of sauces and tea, take and bake pies, cheese curds, fudge, and frozen meals, like home-made chicken pot pies and enchiladas! We grabbed some BOMB BLTs from the restaurant before we hit the road and they were even made with the home grown tomatoes they sell!! 10/10 would recommend!

Pies, cookies and pecans Oh my. Hamburgers and Tacos. A great place to stop for a while. The Proprietors are welcoming and make it a stop you will remember. I had pecan, berry and chocolate cream pies. The tacos are great too.

I'm confused about all the great reviews. I really wanted to like this because we just moved here and it is close to us. The place was very clean -I'll give it that. But the food was very mediocre. I don't think much food was actually made there. The hamburger patty seemed like a preformed and precooked patty that was microwaved. The chicken nuggets were like Great Value nuggets from Walmart. The chicken salad was decent but was obviously bought premade. And the servings were quite small. Chicken salad was served on a small croissant. Basic frozen french fries. For take home I bought one pan of 5 enchiladas, 4 bierocks, one peach pie and the cost was over $70!. Bierocks were decent but enchiladas didn't taste like Mexican food - more like tortillas with bierock filling. Walmart has better pies at a lot cheaper price The jams and jellies and candies are what I call souvenir shop goods - made commercially elsewhere. No "made in Kansas" items.

Worst of all was the service! The store closes at 6 and kitchen closes at 5:30. We got there at 5:20 and the older lady that worked there was obviously not happy to see us. She looked at us and warned "You have 10 minutes". I understand shutting the kitchen early so someone doesn't come in at 6 and order but we got there before the kitchen closed. Even though it was still only 5:30 she started putting up stuff to close down around us obviously put out with us. It was uncomfortable.

So basically over priced food I could buy at Walmart, cheap souvenir goods and poor service. We will not go back even though it's only...

We traveled almost 3 hours just to get there for these pies that we ordered. I ordered a deluxe banana cream pie among other things. The pie was horrible. There were so few bananas in the pie that it didn't even taste like banana cream. It just tasted like a vanilla pie. The few bananas that were in the pie were dark brown. I'm not sure if we were sold old pies or what happened because I have had this pie before and it did not taste or look like that the first time. The older lady that runs the front was just horrible. No friendly greating or even a hi how are ya. Just a nasty scowl on her face and acted like we were an inconvenience to her....

Was looking forward to the visit and a late lunch. I had the German sandwich (Can't remember the name), in which the contents were encased inside a homemade roll. My partner had a Reuben, the "special of the day". Mine was rather small for the price and tough because it was over nuked (5.95); his Reuben was sinfully sparse on meat and sauerkraut (7.95). We knew sides were a la cart, but figured the sandwiches would hold their own. We both went away hungry and lesson learned. We do NOT recommend for obvious reasons only to be disappointed with the outcome. Eat lunch...
