My family and I have been coming since you opened. In earlier years the food usually was very good. I hate to say this but the last several times it's been hit or miss on the food. We kept coming because we know how things can go south in the kitchen, our entire family has worked in the restaurant industry so we are very forgiven of circumstances . My family and I came on 8/6/24 for dinner. The hostess was welcoming and very pleasant. Our server Michele was very nice , answered our guestions , delivered our drinks in a timely manner and took our order. While sitting there we noticed there was no music playing and that two gentlemen were hanging out behind the counter talking and laughing near the kitchen, I'm not sure if they were management but they never moved through our entire visit. They didn't help the staff at all even when our food took over 45 minutes to come out, the plates were burning hot , we know that meant the food was sitting in the window, the FF looked gross , dried up, my Mahi sandwich was dry, the MR hamburger was well done, the table behind us had ordered before we even got there and our food came out before there's, they gasped when we got served first. Their server apologized, our server also apologized for the wait and said they only had one cook on, she clearly was stressed but she managed to still be pleasant and professional. We exchanged the FF for another side , we sent the burger back and it came back out raw. Surprisingly the Gator tail was cooked perfectly, the redfish was unappealing and had no flavor. The poor servers were clearly doing the best they could all the while the two guys never lifted a hand to help. A manager never stopped in to check on us. We didn't complain to our server and we were very nice to her so as not to add anymore stress on her. Needless to say we won't be recommending your restaurant anymore and if we come back it'll be for drinks only. You probably should find out why a manager didn't step in to help in the...
Read moreHad an awesome late lunch at Eaton's Beach. Very cool place for all to enjoy on a sun shiny Florida day! The Host, Todd, greeted us with a smile and friendly personality. Todd is a terrific person to have as your first impression. He said us at a table closest to the windows to have a beautiful view of their private beach space. It was spring break, so there were lots of kids enjoying the water/beach area below. They even had an inflatable water slide and floats set up for kids to play on. We later found out there was a cost tied to the kids play beach area, but there is plenty of other beach space open. Our server, Ramon, was a delight. He gave us drink recommendations, which were spot on. As well as, Ramon gave us fantastic food recommendations. He was very friendly and just the right amount attentive. We appreciated his style and conversation. The food was delicious. One meal was the salmon with green beans, with a substitute side of mashed potatoes. Green beans were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Salmon was tender and flakey. Mashed were, well, mashed but creamy, good flavor. Another meal was the Cobb Salad. Wonderful salad mix, and the tenders were delicious, not overly battered. Both kiddos got the mac-n-cheese, which is spiral noodles with cheese sauce. We thought it was good, but it was not the kids' kraft mac-n-cheese. Be warned parents. Lol. Lastly, they had a nice drink menu and pretty solid selections of beer and spirits. The atmosphere at Eaton's is amazing. Like an old beach restaurant should look like. Warn, distressed woods, but still fresh paint and style. Really, it's a great vibe. We will definitely be back to let the kiddos play...
Read moreEaton's Beach Sandbar restaurant is a nice out of the way place next to Lake Weir in Weirsdale, FL. Very close to Belleview, the restaurant has only been in operation for about five years.
On our most recent visit, there was an anniversary special on pulled pork sandwiches, so we stopped in.
The service was nice, if not exceptionally friendly. Amazingly, we were seated within ten minutes. This is unusual, because there is almost always a wait at the restaurant. The seats were nice with a view of the lake, and there was a nice breeze blowing in that was more than pleasant.
The food delivery was fairly quick...we had our appetizer within ten minutes, and our lunch within ten more after that.
The food was hot and fresh and good tasting. I would definitely recommend the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. The pulled pork sandwiches were also good, and so was the shrimp Po boy.
The atmosphere was relaxed, but the band/music playing downstairs was really quite loud. We never felt rushed, but our waitress was very business like. Maybe she was just having a rough day.
While the atmosphere was nice and the food good, I am docking one full star for the prices on the menu. Four of us had lunch there, no alcohol was had, and there people had the pulled pork special, and the meal was still over $75 after tip. That's an expensive lunch in my book. For supper, that amount may not be unreasonable, but for lunch I think it is.
I remember when Eaton's Beach was just a beach. The restaurant is nice, but I think it will become a special occasion only...
