We all had a taste for some German food this weekend. Mom suggested that we try the October Fest dinner offerings at Orange Blossom Hills' country club. And I'll be darned if Mom wasn't right again! (I have learned to trust that Mom does, indeed, know best.) We tried some Jaegerschnitzel, which was really good. Different, but very tasty. Washed down with some good German, dark beer, and you will be ready to party with all the Huns! đ The next night I wanted to go for a fish fry! And it was delicious, too! The Beer-battered cod fillets were exceptional! AND I even liked the French fries! Now, when I say fish fillets, I'm not talking about the usual factory processed, minced fish fillets that many restaurants try to pass-off as fish fillets. No, these are actual, whole pieces of cod, rolled in their delectable beer batter and then fried to a mouth watering, golden brown, that can only be described as delicious! đ𤤠And then, for dessert, we topped the meal off with a bourbon pecan bread pudding, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! And it was big enough to satisfy...

I have had salad greens at Orange Blossom in the past that were like left overs with brown edges and wilted but I thought I would try a salad one more time. The greens were the same; wilted and unappetizing looking. Two ladies at our table ordered sandwiches with bacon which they could not eat as it was almost raw. Those who ordered hot dogs were pleased, however. The Vegan Burger was pretty good. Some ladies were disappointed that New England Clam Chowder was no longer on the menu.Women seemed to enjoy themselves. The fact that you have round tables make a gathering very convenient for conversation which I know all the ladies appreciated. I would love to give 5 stars but the 3 stars were a stretch. Sorry. We also like dining outside by the pool but it does not make up for...
Read moreTerrible experience on a recent Thursday night with my family of five adults. We ordered a round of drinks. Waitress came back three times to tell us the bar didnât have the spirits requested and were out of pina colada mix! When drinks finally arrived, they were the worst drinks weâve ever had. We couldnât even identify whose was whose at the table. All this while untalented/off key singers were so loud we couldnât hear each other talk. We decided to try some apps before we ordered entrees. Good thing we did this. The peel and eat shrimp was tasteless and we questioned its freshness, as well as that of another warm shrimp dish. Not wanting to get sick from whatever we may have ordered for entrees, we left the restaurant, had a quick and delicious meal and drinks at Carrabas and went to our show. I was very disappointed as we had our family at The Villages for the first time and this was a very bad first impression. We...
