Whole Experience Eat Lafayette brought me here.
The whole concept is pretty neat. I really dig the whole "build your own," movement. When first pulling up the presentation of the building had me a little sketched out. They have a "raise the flag," system when you are ready to have your order taken. I think its pretty gross honestly, the string you had to pull on immediately grossed me out ( it just felt dirty,) and you had to continue to pull it to have you flag completely raised, which in my car required me almost hanging out. Putting that aside i still had an open mind about the food. The server came out pretty quickly. The server I had though was a girl no more than 16, extremely disconnected. She wasn't rude, but did not smile. She was just very ready for me to tell her my order and never spoke other than to say hello and say she would be back with my total. Not very welcoming at all, I was one of three cars with at least two servers there. I felt i should have been acknowledged more honestly. I ordered a Broaddus burger, on a white bun. My tops were lettuce, tomato, ranch, those were free to add on. I paid to add on Cheese(.30), Bacon(.75), and sliced avocado (.75) Two of which were free, bring my total to around 8.50 (which would have been nearly 10$ full priced.) My order was taken, and immediately after i was brought out my drink, which would have been awesome if it wasn't an eight minute wait to get your burger. This was mentioned on the sign. If you are like me and like your drinks with, or even after your food, that kinda sucks. I was willing to put watery Dr.Pepper aside, but then i tasted it. It had a faint chemical taste and it was noticeable enough to make me think something was not right. By this time I'm just really confused by this place but willing to forgive if i get a bomb burger. It took around 8 minutes to cook. When i received my order i took it home and when i got there i wish i would have just asked for my money back after the drink. I live less than a mile away and my trip home was less than 2 minutes. I open my bag to find hot sweet potato fries ( Win!) but a less than room temperature, over cooked brick. The patty was thin considering most non chain restaurants give you a decent sized pati. It paled in comparison. I was given a single dot of ranch it the center of the top bun, 4 extremely thin "slices" of avocado that were not even an inch and a half long. On top of the avocado was a single leaf of iceberg lettuce, and a slightly under ripped tomato. At first glance it looked like i had no toppings i ordered expect the single slice of cheese. You really had to go looking for your toppings. My bacon was under the over cooked patty that was extremely charred. It was like the ranch wrapped up in the dead center of the burger in a lump, tried to break it apart but it was cold and just wouldn't work, took one bite before it busted out the bottom of the burger. Burger Definitely has an over abundance of bread crumbs in its mix, doesn't really taste super beefy at all. Mine was also dry and like biting a brick, there was no way it was made on spot. Over all i don't think i'll go back, don't really intend to recommend to anyone either. Over all not very impressed at all. Oh, sweet potato fries where awesome at first. Thought they just weren't seasoned, but about half way in i found the seasoning with had collected on just some fries. Many other places who dont specialize in burgers with much better...
Read moreI thought I wrote a review after my 2nd visit. picked up a burger and fried eggplant first time. The girl that helped me seemed to be running the front and helping in back was so very nice and personable. A guy that also helped me was very nice. The food was great and fresh and I was especially happy about how crisp and fresh the lettuce and tomato were, and the eggplant wasnt crazy greasy, it was perfect -- 2 nd visit, same girl, just as nice and friendly, burger and fries were same as last and great. Today, i didnt feel as pleasant of a voice on the phone and it was odd. I asked for the black bean burger with eggplant bun. She had me repeat, then asked what i want on it. I asked what comes on it and she said we put what you ask for on it. So i said i would just like some honey bbq and she then says " do you want it dressed". That was odd since we already went over that in my head. I also got onion rings. Well the drive thru was uncomfortable. It was a different girl. She roughly opened the window and a bit aggressively just said 'hello' an stared. I said what there for , and competed my transaction. So didnt have as great an experience with staff today or the food., The burger tasted good but was kinda sloppy. NOT a black bean patty that help together. it was basically almost a spread of black beans, which is perfectly fine with me cause i love beans so i just ate it with a fork and knife. The problem was it was thrown together messy and the one tiny piece of lettuce was all wilted to almost nothing, i gag at the sight of wilted lettuce. AND, i did not get the honey bbq on it, but mayo, mustard and ketchup. Was not at all the flavor i wanted, The onion rings were ok but a total grease bomb. the bag was completly soaked and my desk had a couple little puddles of grease from it. So not the best experience today. I would go back again when im craving a burger. but if i keep having an experience like today instead of my first 2 i will stop. I think it's...
Read moreOverall, I really enjoyed my visit at this restaurant. While I enjoyed the peanut butter burger, the PBB felt like it was missing something. If this burger were stuffed with pepper jelly so that it would be a peanut butter and jelly burger, I think it would hit like nothing else. I enjoyed eating it and the meet Patty was much thicker than I was expecting so I really appreciated that it wasn't a super thin burger. The chili cheese fries were good, but it was obvious that my chili cheese fries were sitting for several minutes waiting for the burger to be finished. I would have been happier to get my chili cheese fries with my milkshake while waiting for the burger than to have my chili cheese fries with the cheese already hardened. Still I did enjoy the chili cheese fries, but I also felt that the chili was a bit under seasoned for my liking. The strawberry milkshake was on point and I would recommend it. I definitely plan to try the cheesecake milkshake on my next visit. I definitely plan to come back to this establishment again so I could try some of their other specialty burgers! It is 100% worth coming to experience this location. The lady that took my order was very courteous and professional, and I appreciated that she answered my questions regarding the menu as best she could. If I had any other suggestions it would be to have a gluten-free bun of some sort for people that can't eat gluten. I personally have a good friend that breaks out into hives anytime she eats gluten. I do understand that any burger can be made into a burger bowl, but I know this individual would love to have a burger just like everyone else with her at the table. I was hoping that the eggplant bun would be...
