Cooney's Crawfish — Restaurant in Lafayette

First and foremost — these crawfish were top notch. Big, clean, and full of meat — especially impressive for this time of year.

I called around looking for 3 pounds of crawfish for a video I was filming, and no one in the area wanted to help as they would only sell me sacks. Then I got ahold of Cooney's, and without hesitation they said, “No problem.”

I showed up an hour later, and the crawfish were waiting on me. They wouldn’t even accept payment — they just wanted to support what I was doing.

They didn’t treat it like a transaction. They took the time to actually connect, to ask about me, and just have a real human interaction — which is rare these days.

This is as local and genuine as it gets. Cooney’s deserves...

I’m a long time veteran of ordering mild boiled crawfish. I get everything from extra salted to the max of pepper, rinsed. Used WAITR tonight. Cooneys did everything right. If my order wasn’t boiled separately, which I’m pretty sure it wasn’t, they know exactly how to deliver a mild order. Thing two they got right: potatoes were boiled separately....

Crawfish were BIG but undercooked. Season just thrown on the food. Unfortunately, this is the pic of what I’m about to throw away. The potatoes were decent.
