Nice place and highly recommend Mozzerelli sticks!!! Amazing!!! Bartender made good mixed drinks. Ribeye pretty good. Weird tasting baked potatoes can’t explain. Dry even with lots of butter & sour cream. Biggest problem was prime rib & manager. Ordered medium rare. Came well done. Waitress wonderful about taking back & getting new one but it came too done as well & cold like from refrigerator. Manager came out & was cocky saying that’s what medium rare looks like & didn’t know why so cold. But acted like we were just complaining. We NEVER send things back. This was an exception. Ended up taking steak back & off bill but one of us left without eating. Took 27 minutes when we got there just to get someone to come to our table to order anything. And that was when we finally asked someone. Meal took sooo long including just salads. Don’t get me wrong, our waitress was very nice. They just have a lot of things to work on mostly including how to cook a steak & how the manager talks to people & interacts. We definitely weren’t looking for a free meal!! But just an “I’m sorry, hope you give us another try & we’re working on doing better’ would’ve...
Read moreIts a rare occasion we are able to go out for a nice dinner and enjoy ourselves having 3 teenagers but when we do we like to try places we have never been! Tonight we chose the Backroads Tavern and let me tell you... we were NOT disappointed. A relaxing, scenic 45 min drive from angola resulted in the best meal we have had out in a long while. The cheese sticks were pretty darn close to "world famous" as our amazing waiter Chris stated. Followed up by the most tender waygu steak with crispy brussel sprouts and loaded fries! Not a single thing I could have done better had I made it myself at home! Drinks were nice and strong, atmosphere was pleasing. However... what made us want to rant and rave about this dining experience was the service we received. From the moment we walked thru the door we were greeted with a smile. Chris was attentive, personable, knowledgeable. He cared enough about his customers and the service he provided to the point we felt he had to be the owner! THAT folks is what makes me WANT to come back to an establishment! Job WELL DONE Backroads Tavern and Chris! Thank you for a very...
Read moreEdit to following review. They get better every time and are definitely five stars.Went to the Back roads Tavern to try the new place. I went on a Thursday for dine in and then returned for a takeout order on the following Saturday. I was very impressed with the bartender,Chris, who was very attentive and intelligent and we shared a few laughs. The locals recommended the barb wire chicken, which I tried and really liked for a very reasonable price. The drinks were very good. I also had the opportunity to meet the new owners, Pete and Lori and they were very nice. New employee , Joan, seemed ready to start her new position and I wished her well. The take out visit was a little different. Had the barb wire chicken again with a large salmon salad. Not as good as the dine in meal, but ok. Salmon portion was a bit small for a large salad. The door hostess was a bit snappy and rude but Chris was there and remembered my name from my previous visit. Overall, they were a good stop for drinks and a comforting meal. I wish them well and will...
