Taste of Florida At Lang's — Restaurant in Lake Alfred

Good looking food, nice people. Surprisingly expensive for what you get. No choice of different forms of chips. No choice of fruit, either -- I asked what they had, and while I was told today was a generic fruit medley, I received a single orange slice for a side.

A bit disappointed in the construction of the Cuban. This looks like a lot of food, but it's cut along the long edge, making the sandwich an absolute chore to eat. The meat spews out of the very narrow side, since you can't get a grip strong enough to counter your bite. Would be much better cut semi-diagonally (a la Black & Brew in downtown Lakeland) or along the short edge to create a greater surface for fillings to not slide out.

The food is fine, just not worth the severe asking price considering the number of concessions made...

Taste of Florida is an iconic small restaurant. They have a small menu but they do have soup, sandwich, and salad combinations. They can also make wraps and smoothies. Lang's is known for their delicious cakes such as an orange layer cake and a strawberry layer cake. They also have orange soft serve ice cream. A small gift shop with local honey and preserves is also part of the restaurant. I know the costs of food have gone up, my chicken salad on a croissant with a small bag of Lays potatoe chips and a very small portion of melon was 12.95.
