Panini Bar — Restaurant in Lake Barrington

We went to Panini Bar, as we had a craving for a panini this afternoon and we googled “panini near me”. This place came up. We ordered avocado panini (vegetarian) and Turkey pesto panini. Both were REALLY REALLY tasty. Avocado panini had a bit of spaciness to it (which I loved). Turkey panini was absolutely delicious with basil pesto. All ingredients were fresh and panini was nice and crispy. We rally enjoyed our food. The only thing we didn’t realize is that this is a deli, not a cafe. So there is no opportunity for dine-in. It's literally a guy inside of a liquor store with a panini machine. Does his best to upsell the panini with avocado and jalapeno for a dollar extra. I got the roast beef, and lemme tell you. It was the toughest cut of beef in my life. One bite and I pulled out the whole piece of meat out...

The panini maker itself is jet black. Makes me wonder if it has ever been cleaned, or if this guy has a license to make food at all.

Was doing some work nearby and mentioned the place to the customer and they told us we were brave for eating their food. Somehow we didn't get food poisoning.

The sandwich shops, corporate included, aren’t remotely close to this convenient store. They can’t compare to the size and tastes of all of their paninis. Handmade, safely and clean, the are unique and yet simple. I was going to ask for a pickle before I realized they put it right on the sandwich. Customer service is my favorite in all of lake Zurich and they make my favorite chicken chipotle almost every week...
