A very cute little bakery/small eats. Went on a Saturday about 10am and it was super packed- the line out the door.
Location: Not super familiar with the area of town, but able to locate with gps. Parking was weird and super limited. Park on the street or in the back.
Atmophere: clean, bright, airy. Great smells. Order at the counter style. Seating inside & outside. Nice serving plates/bowls/utensils. I really think this place would benefit from table service versus order at the counter. By ordering at the counter, it created a massive congested line, and those in line felt in the way of everyone (other guests, workers bringing food/cleaning, etc). It was very overwhelming. However, if table service was operated, guests could be seated with a menu (they have menus already) and there wouldn't be ppl everywhere all at once. Plus, those wanting to-go could still use the counter to order instead of being seated. I feel this would help the speed of service and lessen the congestion.
Service: felt a little rushed at the counter. We were asked what we wanted at the very start of the counter without being able to see what there even was. With the massive crowd and servers running around, it felt a little hectic to order. Otherwise, friendly.
Food: tea, coffee, bread, cinnamon rolls, bread pudding, brownies, cookies, salads, bear claw, etc. Large baked goods. We got 2 coffees and enjoyed the flavors. We also got a cinnamon roll and liked that too (big enough to share). I got a bread pudding to go for my husband and he liked it but definitely better warm.
Price: overall felt fair. The baked goods were large and priced reasonably. I ordered a specialty coffee and was told it was a small for $6, but it was more like an xsmall. It was good, but too expensive for the size.
Overall, a great treasure in lake charles. Definitely worth the visit, I don't think you will be disappointed in the food. If you do go, be sure to have time to spare because you may 1-have trouble finding a parking spot and 2- have to wait in...

If there's anything to critique, it's that the popularity of the place can lead to limited seating during peak hoursābut thatās just more proof of how beloved this spot is. Arriving early or visiting during quieter times is worth it for the full experience.
In short, this bakery is more than just a place to grab a biteāitās a thoughtfully curated experience that deserves attention. Whether you're a local or just passing through, itās well...

In the beginning, the Bekery provided high quality product and a highly consistent experience. However, over the years, so many things have changed that I no longer recognize the place I once loved.
The recipes have changed. The portion sizes have gotten smaller, and the prices have increased. Some of my favorite items are no longer on the menu.
I no longer know what to expect, and because of this I find myself no longer interested in returning.
Iāve discussed the changes with several others who also noticed, and we agreed: the heart and soul and love that was once evident is not there anymore.
Maybe one day theyāll get back to that. Iād love to see it, and the original recipes return.
Original review from 2020: I have never had anything less than excellent from here. Everything is homemade from scratch, and itās always served fresh and piping hot. They have Incredible coffee, pastries, sandwiches, king cakes, and so much more! Love the atmosphere too, itās the perfect place for breakfast or lunch date! My favorite thing is the breakfast sandwich on the croissant. It has an over-easy egg, cheese, and bacon. The prices are reasonable and 100% worth. This is one of my absolute favorite places in town, and you NEED to try it if you havenāt! I hope theyāre around for a...
