Starion 7 was recommended to us by my dad of all people, who is critical of most restaurants. We stopped in for lunch, and the parking lot was full. The parking lot here is small for the amount of space they have inside, but we found a spot and went in to grab some lunch. We were seated pretty quickly and chose the outdoor seating area. The day was awesome for sitting outside, which I never do to begin with. The outside seating has options, covered and non covered. We chose to sit at one of the benches with an umbrella. Our waitress took a couple of minutes to bring our menus and water to the table.
Once we decided on drinks, she was prompt in getting them out to us. My wife and I ordered the Dirty Chia Martini. It was honestly one of the best drinks I've had at a bar. We placed our food orders for 2 pizzas and 2 salads. I ordered the taste of Italy salad. It was OK, but the orange dressing was reminiscent of vomit. I couldn't choke it down. The pizzas we ordered were both above average. The cauliflower crust pizza is one of the best I've had in the city. The regular crust pizza was on par with most restaurant pizzas in Kansas City. I would come back here just for the cauliflower pizza and definitely find another salad.
Overall, the food was good, the service was average, and the drinks were top-notch. We would have stayed and had another round, but we had to get back to what we were doing for the rest of the day. The atmosphere here is fun and enjoyable. People seemed to be having...
Read moreBeen several times, but Sunday we went, stood to be seated about 5 min. Got seated and waited another 5 min. For waiter to come by. Meanwhile another couples walks in they seat their self, waitress goes right up get there drink order, and bartender takes their beer to them. Now we get waited on, I ordered a beer, wife tried two samples. Our beers sit at the end if the bar until the waitress brings them. So we waited another 5 min. We sat in front part where bar is, until she came and got are order. Ordered, pretzel, pepperoni pizza. Rib tips, never got the rib tips someone at another table Ordered them they looked good. Well when we got them, pizza was pooled with grease, and the ribs were dry and had the most grisel and fat and were tough and dry. I couldn't eat them. We wasn't in a hurry so the waiting wasn't terrible, but the service and food was terrible. They have employees everywhere and lots of tables open. I had plenty of time to just observe. I never saw employees count the register so much. I don't why just noticed. I don't know why we were treated like we was, but cost her a tip and I love tipping even if the food sucks, if the waiter does there part I take good care of them. I don't know if we will go back was are 4th or 5th time, I know it's hard to staff a business, keep trying I hope it...
Read moreThe glasses, silverware and plates were extremely dirty. When we showed the waiter, the manager returned with 2 more glasses for our wine, saying sarcastically, “Maybe you want to check these” and we are GLAD we did! They were even dirtier than the first set of glasses. So the manager, who should NOT be a manager, brought us over plastic cups. Not sure if those were clean but we poured our wine into those. When the roll ups w silverware arrived, my fork stuck to the napkin as I unrolled it. Disgusting! Leftover food that wasn’t washed off had dried against the napkin. After that, we canceled our order and let the rude manager know. She then told us “She’d take care of it” so we left with our wine in plastic glasses. As we were walking to our car, the manager chased us down, yelling that we were stealing-!? The 3 of us women, in our 50’s, let her know we assumed she meant for the whole order when she said “it’s taken care of” and that we would pay. She was so unhinged that she wouldn’t accept payment so we handed our (probably filthy) plastic cups filled with our wine. This was mishandled in SO many ways, starting with her attitude. What in the heck is happening to the food service industry where servers/managers are RUDE instead of HELPFUL to paying...
