Filippo's of Mahomet — Restaurant in Lake of the Woods

Initially called for carry out (the guy informing us of wait times was short with my husband and rude, as if we were an inconvenience) but due to the long wait times we decided to head in after the game thinking it would be quicker as it was later in the evening. We were greeted immediately, the server was the sweetest and quickly got our order in. Watching her power clean the dining room was proof the wait times earlier in the evening had to be accurate! The food was great, pizza was like nothing we have ever had and the Lasagna didn't miss a beat. The atmosphere while eating is the only reason we will never be back. We overheard one of the employees discussing with who appeared to be a customer (the only one not wearing a Filippos T-shirt) his history with the "bad" steroids and his recent encounters with the "not so bad" steroids. At one point the phone rang and the guy got up to answer it only to hang up and immediately start "trash talking" the caller. Ordered 2 pizzas & breadsticks tonight from this place order was about $40 drove from rantoul to Mahomet to get it. This was a horrible experience from the food to the customer service even from the owner!!! I asked for light on the sauce on the thick crust when I got home it was covered in sauce & the pizza was nowhere near done. I called and asked to speak with a manager instead I got the owner who was arguing instead of apologizing for our first time experience with them. She argued everything I said and not one time was there an I’m Sorry!!! She said the thick pizza is doughy but this pizza we got was nowhere close to being done even the toppings were not fully cooked. Then I explained how we drove 30 minutes to get this and when we got there we also had to wait extra bc they were behind and didn’t tell us until we arrived. I would not recommend this place at all definitely needs to learn customer service and you don’t argue with a customer!!! The outcome of this was an $8 credit of a $40 order an again no apology once. I have tried ordering Filippos 3x in the last 2 months. Each time, for a pick up order, I was quoted between 1.5 and 2 hours. Last time, I was only order 19. If they can't make 19 pizzas in 1.5 hours, they are doing something wrong. I worked in pizza for years. At both of the chains I worked in, pick up orders would be ready in between 15-30 minutes, and if they werent, we were in trouble. During dinner rushes, it was not uncommon for us to make 80-150 pizzas per hour. I frankly don't know why Filippos is not capable of making a pizza in under 1.5 hours for pick up, but they need to get their stuff together. I'm going to try 1 more time because their pizza is really good (when I've been able to get it in the past - and it never took that long back in the day that I lived next door to them), but if I can't get a reasonable pick up time (under 45 minutes) I'm done trying, they've lost my business. When I call to pick up a pizza, I'm hungry NOW, not 1.5-2 hours from now.
