Tacos My Friend — Restaurant in Lake Park

Y’all… RUN, DO NOT WALK to Tacos My Friend in Lake Park. This little hole in the wall that has set up shop at 101 W Marion Ave in Lake Park is simply DELICIOUS!! My husband, sister in law and I decided to try it out for dinner last night and it did not disappoint. Such an incredible selection of meats paired with a nice range of entree options and tasty traditional sides. Between the 3 of us, we tried 5 of their menu selections with a variety of meats (most pictured below). I’ll start first with my Nachos de Asada (grilled steak). The meat was seasoned to perfection and the steak was tender and juicy and the chips were perfect down to the thickness and the cheese dip was everything you want and MORE in a creamy queso. My sister in law got the Torta de Carnitas. Whew😮‍💨 again, the meat tender and seasoned beautifully and the torta itself was a good portion for what you pay. She also got the esquite (street corn in a cup). She said it was full of flavor and satisfied her craving for an elote without having to mess with the cobb. My husband got the burrito plate de Carnitas, same thing with the meat here, tender and delicious and the portion size was great. We also got 3 tacos, 2 de Al Pastor (pineapple marinaded pork), and 1 lengua (cow tongue). All three were juicy, topped with cilantro, grilled onions, raw onions, and served with a side of lime wedges, radish slices, and cucumber slices. AGAIN, the meat was seasoned perfectly and melt in your mouth tender. To top it all off, the tortillas are fresh, the rice is flavorful and tender, and the aguas frescas were so good we paid the dollar to refill and take some with us. Food tasted great but my gf got multiple shards of razor blades in her taco. It was a steak taco so be careful. I think it came from whatever they use to cut up the meat. When I tried to call and let them know so someone wouldn’t swallow a freaking razor blade. they said they would reach back out and never did. Food is good yes but I will never return because of this. And honestly I get mistakes happen but to just run away from something like that’s is crazy. Especially because if we had actually eaten in the restaurant instead of getting it to go we could potentially have a law suit on our hands. Hands down the best Mexican place i have ever been to. Literally flew from Ireland to Georgia just for their esquite! I always try and convince my aunt to go here whenever I visit.
