📍 The Iron Waffle Company in Nisswa, MN. One of the best waffle places I have ever been to. The coffee is great and the food better. Lots of options for those with a sweet tooth or if you want the savory side. This is a definite must stop in the lakes area. My favorite to date by far is the bacon goat cheese. It was one of those moments that you had to just thank God for brining you to this glorious taste experience. I'm not even sure how to start. The atmosphere is adorable and very well furnished. The employees are super polite and sweet, and I really appreciate their competence. It's not something you come across often nowadays, so they deserve a round of applause. On the other hand, the food was abysmal. I was shocked at how quickly our food was served, turns out it's just because the waffles were ridiculously undercooked. We were basically eating dough. The food was like rapunzel, but instead of letting its hair down, it let down every customer who walked through the door. I lost one of my nine lives here.

Nope nope nope! Don't eat here. Overpriced and undercooked waffles. Not sure if the owner understands the potential dangers of undercooked eggs/dough. When asked, the staff's rehearsed response was "these are doughy waffles". Did you just make that up? That's not even a thing! I was literally in Liege Belgium earlier this year, the world capital of waffles, and I can assure you that "doughy waffles" is an excuse for "not sure how to make a good waffle". Too bad, because the place is cozy and nice. Just figure out your recipe and you'll be on your way to serve much better and safe food!!!!

Checked this place out for breakfast and unfortunately wasn’t impressed. The grounds are cute, the inside of the building was well decorated and vibey. It made you feel like you were about to eat the best “signature” waffle you ever had! The kids working were nice and quick. The buzzer system is nice as the inside is very small and can easily get congested with other customers (as well as sweaty and hot). Once I received my food it looked great! I got the maple bacon waffle and took it back to my seat. Obviously took a bite of bacon first and you can’t go wrong with bacon. There was a garnish of two pineapples and that’s when things took a turn. The pineapples were dry and hard so I moved to the main course. It was covered in syrup and butter and looked amazing. I took the first bite and…the waffle…was mush. It was as if it wasn’t cooked through and I was just chewing on uncooked dough. I was out to eat with 5 others and they all agreed their waffle was mush or something was off. I tried to eat the most I could as this one waffle cost $8….of course I want my moneys worth! I would barely eat half of it and these waffles are not very big. A good reference could be about the size of a softball pressed into a waffle. I’m not sure what is in these waffles or if this is a delicious mushy waffle to others…unfortunately for 6 people it was a disappointment…we left with sad tummies and a bit hungry. The 1 star is for the really well kept business. Maybe if they put the same energy into decorating the restaurant into their food maybe this would be a different review. Don’t mean to be rude but just...

Set-up in what appears to have once been a cabin. Decor is a hodgepodge of tables, chairs, and wall decor which gives you plenty to look at while you're waiting for your order. Indoor seating is slightly limited which is not a problem off-season. During peak season, there is a very large outdoor seating area to accommodate as necessary. You order at the counter and they provide you with a pager that let's you know when your order is ready and you pick-up at the counter. Broad selection of coffee drinks including lattes, cappuccinos, etc. Waffles can be made to order or a several preconfigured selections are also listed. I had the "skinny" which includes fresh fruit, yogurt, and granola. It was huge and very filling. The waffle itself was a bit doughy but I loved it that way as it was like eating a hot cookie straight out...

The place is super cute. The employees are sweet & friendly. The coffee is good. The waffles are frightful. My kiddos rated it a 1 star. They could barely eat them. The waffles are heavy, raw, undercooked, not crunchy, not airy. Basically this place is left in the hands of sweet teenagers who were told that "the waffles are supposed to be doughy." When we asked them why they tasted like that. Note to the owners: You have a super adorable place that could be so much better! All you need is a better waffle recipe! Please please try a new recipe or just ignore all of the reviews and keep your frightful waffles. The best part is we bought a sticker for our cargo before we tasted the waffles. A good memory to my family for being troopers for trying this blob of dough pretending to be a waffle!...
