North of Lake Wales on Florida 17 lies an old Florida Roadhouse called Al's Place. Since Ruby likes Chili dogs and we were in the area, we stopped in. It doesn't look like much from the outside, and the inside is decorated with historic front pages of famous events. A group of regulars were at the unique elephant table. The inside is small and a bit on the dark side. While our server was attentive the burger I ordered was not very flavorful. If you are looking for a good burger I would recommend taking the drive into Winter Haven for either the Twisted Prop or...
