Say-Less BBQ — Restaurant in Lake Wales

My family and I are down in Lake Wales about 3 times a year from Tennessee. I have had this restaurant on my list of places to try for a while and decided to give it a try last week while we were in town! I called in our order, the man on the phone was nice and attentive. I love that they have a drive up window! I got there and waited in line and at the window for a total of around 20 mins (no issue, I like my food fresh anyway). The food was good! The macaroni, candied yams, fries... all great! The lightly breaded fried chicken wings... amazing! Their sauces are great too! I am giving 4 stars, only because for my meal I ordered the chicken platter and when I got back to the house, about 20 minutes down the road, I opened my plate to see that they did not put the chicken in, only the two sides and bread. Next time, I will check my order before leaving. That was my fault.

They were busy at the walk up window and had other things going on, so this is nothing I am going to hold against the establishment. Mistakes happen and this will not keep me from coming back when we are back in town. Give this...

Rode my motorcycle for 2.5 hours to visit a nearby attraction called Bok Gardens. I got hungry and looked up restaurants near me. So glad i found Say Less BBQ. I saw all the rave reviews and decided to give it a try. I had the chicken and rib platter and it was amazing! Tender pork ribs with the perfect bite marks and perfectly smoked, not over done. The chicken was amazing and the skin just melted in my mouth while the meat was juicy and tender. The colelaw was perfect and cut through the richness and the crinkle fries were crispy amd seasoned woth something that made it feel like home. Not only was the food great, but the service was so great by the nicest people. They really did take care of me after a long day of being out amd before i had to ride another 2.5 hours back home. Its hard to find great bbq and im so glad I found this place. I told the lady that helped me that i would travel 2.5 hours again just to eat their food again. We actually encountered the awesome staff of Say-less at the 4th of July event at Lake Wailes Park this afternoon, and we were really impressed with our food selections. My husband had a rib dinner with HOMEMADE coleslaw. The ribs were tender and the slaw was cool on a hot day with the right amount of moisture. I had a chicken dinner with gold sauce and their baked beans. We also grabbed two mini sweet potato pies that are HOMEMADE as well 😊. Everything was delicious and the price was very reasonable.
